My husband and I are behind on past bills from 2003 all the way up intill now, I can't work at this time and he has to work plus he got another kid from different lady and there taking insurance and child support out of his check each week. We have got in high water at least 9k worth. Anyone have advise or were to get money or what I should do, I heard bankruptcy is bad to use and heard if you get debit const. it's even worst. If you really want to do bankruptcy, it's not that bad. My mom did it after getting her personal finances tied into her business. The stress relief was unbelieveable, it was a fresh start for her. It does mess up your credit for a while but you have to weigh your options. |

stop using credit cards. contact a debt consolidation company. you have to work hard and make sacrifices to get out of debt, but once you have that weight lifted off your shoulders it will be all worth it!
Seriously though, why can't you work? That certainly isn't going to help the problem. If you cannjot work, your husband will need to find a way to make some extra money.... money that goes strictly to the debt you already acquired, not any type of other expenses!!! |

9,000 isn't the end of the world, but if most of your money is going to credit crds every month, and you see no light at the end of the tunnel-it's time to get help.
Don't bother with those debt consolidators, get a lawyer.
He'll let you know if you qualify for bancrupcy, if not, he should be able to help any way-find a bancruptcy lawyer.
His fee will be about 2 months what you pay out in credit cards every month, but hopefully he'll work it so that the cards aren't such a burden.
Don't worry about your credit-there are 3 types; perfect, mediocre and bad. If debtors are calling you, yours is considered bad-nothing you can do about it.
It would be much more beneficial to your family to put money into a savings rather than to these cc's which will never be a benefit.
Good luck, don't sweat it, credit card companies are crooks-lesson learned. |

You are correct about bankruptcy. That is a 10 year mistake. Let's take a look from the creditors point of view. They want their money. Yes, they would like to have it now but that is just not possible. At least not all of it. You should call each creditor you owe and work out a payment plan. Many creditors will work with you because that is better than not receiving any money at all. It is not going to be easy because they want to make sure you are serious about paying them back before they will give you any slack. You can get a free credit repair guide at http://www.your-credit-solution.com that can explain what you can do to improve your credit. They also have many free articles and many credit and debt solutions.

bankruptcy is not the end of the world. it screws you for 7 - 10 years, and even then you can get credit (abt 1 yr later) if you manage it decently and agree to pay thru the nose in interest at first. |
