Depends on the state. And min. wage is the same for everybody in the state. If your employer says minimum wage is lower for younger people, try to get them to say it on tape. |

I guess it depends on which state you live in I was 18 and I was making 10.00 an hour I live in NJ though minimum wage here is 7.50 I think it depends on how good you are at doing your work they should give you a raise. I started making 7.75 then 8.30 and then as soon as I got out of highschool i got 10 and then 10.50 and then 12 and then 12.45 I am 21 now making 13 an hour I think my boss likes me and I also do my best at my job so. |

I believe it varies from state to state, while the federal gov sets a lower limit.
I'd google your state's minimum wage or check your state's department of labor. |

According to the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) it is "$6.55 per hour effective July 24, 2008." this is the national lowest limit. So no state can give you less than this. Starting tomorrow you can make no less than 6.55 an hour.

That would depend on the country, state, and even city you are working.
For those under me, including Ryan D, who is a fool, who think the federal wage IS the wage every where. Each STATE is not mandated as to what they set their minumum wage at. In fact, about 50% of the states in the country have minimum wages ABOVE the federal level. |

Right now, it is 5.50 to 5.75 an hour. It will soon rise to $6
