How Can I Get Out of Debt?
I went into debt when my beloved dog became very ill. She was like a child to me and trying to save her, my boyfriend and I incurrect $5000 in vet bills and lost wages. Now, we are both full-time students on limited income (loans rationed out by our parents). How can we get out of debt? Is there a way to work from home and make extra money to get out of debt in less than a year? Nice answers, please. I'm not a moron, I was trying to save my pet!

We both can't hold down normal jobs b/c of erratic school schedules and studying.

You could look into internet marketing as a way of making money, often as a form of passive income.

Additionally, the Internet provides, to some degree, a level playing field between large and small companies. For example, if you put together an excellent looking site working from your basement, and a multi-million dollar company puts together a site working from its own industrial park, someone looking at the two sites on their computer may not see any significant difference.

This presents excellent opportunities for people with little money to build passive income in their spare time. Eventually you could reach the stage where you can rely entirely on income from internet marketing. Many people have. This includes professionals such as doctors who make more money via the internet than from their practices.

I understand the feeling when a pet is sick and needs care. It's a bad situation, certainly. You can't make up the lost wages, but there are options for working on the debt. Making monthly payments is a possibility if the vet will accept them. Beware of the get rich quick/make money now scams that are prevalent on the web. Most of them are just that - scams. You could try selling on Ebay if you have items that you can sell. Going to garage sales and auctions is a good way to obtain items to sell. You might also check with GE Care Credit, which is a credit card that is designed specifically for helping pay unwieldy vet bills. The only other option I can think of is a part time job. I know that it's hard to work and go to school full time, but it can be done (I know, I did it). Good luck and my sympathies on your loss.

i'm sorry to hear about your pup...
I would try bartending or waitressing to make extra cash( and flexible schedule). OR you can have a paper route... (its not only a kid job, i have a few friends that do paper routes for extra money and they're grown adults!) But 5k is nothing really, it wont take long to get out of debt. just minimize spending to necessities and put any extra cash towards the debt and you'll be fine :)

First off, let me say I am so sorry for your loss as I do understand both the loss and the financial burden.

If you are talented...artsy, there are many things you can do at home to make extra money! Just be creative and sell your items on e-bay! Here are some items that sell well: Hand sewn doll clothing...baby size! Reborning dolls. Handpainted furniture pieces and so on!

Just think of what you can do well and put your talents to use!!

Good luck!!

Hi!

I am a single mom of 2 girls. My youngest is disabled so I work from home.

You can make extra money doing surveys (I only recommend 2 companies), writing, completing offers, and reading ads.

There are so many different ways, but you do have to know which programs are legit or you waste a lot of time. I put all the legit ones on my blogs to help others out. You can check them out buy clicking on my profile.

I hope this helps!

First thing I would do is contact the vet and let them know of your situation. They might be willing to work with you to reduce the balance owed!!!

Second thing I would do is get a job at a place that allowed me to work a flexible schedule - Wal-Mart, Grocery Stores, Fast Food Stores are all places that allow flexible work schedules.

Opt for a debt consolidation loan: The easiest method of getting a debt consolidation loan is to utilize the equity of your home. Equity of your home is calculated and determined by the difference in the amount you have paid and the amount you owe. If the amount you have paid is more than the amount due, you can use it as collateral. This allows you to borrow money on lower interest rates. Besides, you also get tax benefit on this type of loan. Consult your tax advisor before opting for this loan.

Babysitting might be a good option, if your good with children. Dog walking since you love animals. Mowing lawns, shoveling snow, odd jobs if you're handy that way. Interior/Exterior painting of homes.

Still, with each of you working only part time it will probably take more than a year to pay off $5,000.

I don't think you are a moron. You were taking take of a member of your family. God Bless.

Eat the left over dog food that should save you some.
