Hi,
I wish I knew. I too long for the happiness that only a fist full of benjamins can provide. Unfortunately, I have no idea how one becomes rich. So, instead of spouting off some ill-informed advice, I took a look at Forbes' list of the wealthiest people in the world and examined how they made it big.
It's tempting to just say "oh, they got lucky and inherited it," but that's not always the case. Many on the list started their own business from scratch. Bill Gates, the world's richest man, is completely self-made. Ditto for Warren Buffett, the world's savviest investor. Christy Walton, meanwhile, inheritied much of her fortune.
So, how does one become rich? Hard work, determination, and a rich uncle seem to be the keys to success.

The keys are:
- pay yourself - always set money aside off the top of every paycheque to invest.
- remember career management is a daily activity not to be confined to annual reviews
- only spend on things you need - not things you want. |

It takes time, and it takes work.
There's almost no such thing as doing it quickly, so if you're impatient, you are going to be poor all your life.
Because you will chase "get rich quick" schemes, which will waste your time, money, and energy on things that only make someone ELSE rich (scamming you suckers).
You have to build it slowly and consistently, and always be in "learning mode", not just by getting an education, but by observing what's going on around you, and reading a LOT.
Try to make relationships with SUCCESSFUL people, and don't take advice about how to be successful, from people who are not successful.
Work insanely hard, doing the RIGHT things, be disciplined, BE DEPENDABLE (this is a biggie, because it opens up many earning opportunities, because people trust you, and know you will do the right thing if they entrust you with responsibilities).
Be a NICE person. If people don't like you, they don't want to be around you, and successful people can afford to only have people they like spending time with around them.
Save like a crazy person, even small amounts:
Start adding up expenses, to see how much they really ding you.
For instance, drinking a large mocha at Starbucks 4 times a week adds up.
$3.50 x 4 = $14.00
$14 x 52(weeks) = $728. a year.
$728 x 10(years) = $7,280.
And that's just on freakin' mochas!
This is before interest. If you invested even in an average investment, compounded interest would probably double that.
Start doing that kind of math on everything from ways to save gas, going out less, eating at home, to buying clothing at cheaper stores, etc., and it makes a serious difference. |

If you make a decent income and save enough of it, you'll be rich.
But there are a lot of traps out there that try to separate you from your money.
TRAP #1 TO AVOID: CREDIT CARDS
If you don't believe me, just look at the other questions in this column.
TRAP #2 TO AVOID: CAR PAYMENTS
You can either pay $350 a month for life, or drive clunkers and invest the $350.
TRAP #3 TO AVOID: PAYING TOO MUCH FOR A HOUSE.
Look at the housing bubble. A lot of people bought too much house, found themselves broke, got the house foreclosed, and have a royal mess on their hands. |

the way how you can become rich is - change your present name into "RICH" duly giving a paper publication. |

Oh! That 'rich' feeling was there right from the day the salary started coming , though it began in a paltry way!
A look at the wallet each time re-assured that the left over was enough to last till the next refill (salary date), for basic wants.
Money is very good inside wallet, pocket, bank pass book/statement, locker etc.. But we would look 'stupid' with money entering our head, only that, with many of 'likes' around, we seek that false comfort/consolation from each other (it is thus, that we humans ended up turning that beautiful thing called 'love' into a 'mutual benefit scheme', and then we are now looking all over the place for 'true' love! Again a stupidity. Either we are a loving being , or we are not! Please..... it is not a deviation from the question. Instead it is very pertinent. We are seeking that 'feeling' of rich, or still concisely, the 'satiation, satisfaction' like we say "enough " after a stomach full of feast provided free to us!)
It would be worth while to note that it is only we humans hunting for riches, richness, money power (aha! having seemingly "evolved" THROUGH... brute muscle power!).. while all other living beings (constituting a big majority) still do not have to even "earn" for their food! |

Simple: put an ad in the paper saying "Mail ten dollars to this address (give your address) to find out the secret to getting rich!"
Then whenever you get a letter with a 10-dollar bill in it, mail them back with the secret: "run this ad in the paper!"

Work hard for it. That is the only way that you will acutally respect the money you have. Additionally, save all you possibly can each month after bills and fun. |

Buy low, sell high
basic economics--buy lot of something as cheap as you can, and sell it for as much as you can get... |

It is really very simple and you do not need a degree. You need disipline with your money. Instead of buying toys, like cars and cloths, buy $5,000 of stock every year, quality stocks, reinvest the dividends automatically, and do this for the next 20 years. The more you invest the quicker the time frame for your dream. |
