Ok, first of all, you need 2 pieces of ID, namely your birth certificate and driver's license, if you're over 18 years of age. You can cash a cheque at a store, but you should check their policy on cashing cheques, because they may make you spend some of it to cash it in, or they may not even allow cashing cheques, and not only that, but they may need to verify the cheque. Try at a store or somewhere like that. Good luck, hope you get your money. |

Most high streets today have cheque cashing shops. Look in Yellow pages under credit or pawnbrokers. Watch the interest though. On say a £100 cheque you will get back approx £94, the bigger the cheque is for, the more you will pay. You could open a basic bank account even with an adverse credit history, that way you will get the full value of the cheque. |

I'm in Canada, so things might be different where you are, but if you have proper ID you can go to Money Mart or somewhere like that - but they'll take a big chunk of commission...
If you know someone that has a bank account and it's a good established one (a family member would be perfect), you can sign the back of it and they can deposit it for you. Just remember to sign the back! |

No any bank wont cash it!!!because policies have been tightened up due to money laundering etc,the cheque needs to be paid into an account in your name, you cant sign the back of it and pay it into anyones elses account, you eather open an account or pay a charge at a cheque cashing centre!! |

Where I live and I am pretty sure all over they have places that do check cashing. Look it up in the phone book and go to one of them. I know they do charge a small fee. |

If it is bearer cheque and uncrossed you can go to the bank and get the cash otherwise you have to send for collection if you are having a account with a collecting bank. |

?

Go to cashconverters if you have one nearby or some shops will do it for you for a charge |

You should have specified what country you are in to narrow your useless answers. If you are in USA then try a convenience store that does check cashing. A bank is not going to cash it unless its drawn off of their bank. And some banks cash their own checks if you dont have an account but surpisingly enough some banks wont. Also some pawn shops and check cashing stores may cash it for you. Hopefully you have proper ID and all of that jazz. Good luck. |
