She can endorse it over to you. For a long term solution get a power of attorney and get your name added to her accounts. |

She can endorse it - sign the back and write "for deposit only" on the back, along with her bank account #.
You should then be able to deposit it in her bank account.
She should also be able to mail her (endorsed) check to her bank to have it deposited into her account.
As far as someone else (you) cashing it - not gonna happen. Looks an awful lot like theft and/or fraud. |

have her make the check payable to you and then you should be able to cash it for her it is called a third party check and most banks will cash them if you have an account with them |

You will need to have her write a letter of consent. Take it to her bank and see what they say. |

well for me the health insurance made a check made out to me instead of my parents, my dad just told me to sign the back and then he could deposit it into his account, so i guess your mom would just sign the back |

You will have to go to a Notery Public and get a note signed that states your mother turns all rights over to you, Otherwise the bank will not cash the check, only deposit it in the account or call the police for fraud, Hope this helps |

Have her endorse it over to you (i.e. write "pay to the order of _______" on the back then sign it). Then you can cash it. |

Normally if she signs the back of the cheque it will be endorsed and you should be able to cash it. Because of ramped fraud some banks have started to refuse endorsed cheques.
If that fails just take your mom's ATM card and deposit the cheque at the ATM then use cashback to withdraw funds. If you don't have cashback then the funds will be held for 5-7 days. |

If you name is on her bank account, all you have to do is go to the bank and show your ID. If not ask your mother to call her bank and see if you can go cash it for her |

Your mother needs to set up a Power of Attorney in order for anyone else to help her with her finances. |

You cannot cash checks for her, unless she endorsed it over to you, or you have a power of attorney to handle all of her affairs until she gets better. Help her in her time of need. Don't steal from her. For encouragement. listen to ttb.org. |
