save a quarter of your income and invest it. make your goal to pay yourself more (in savings) than you pay in taxes each year. and going into a high-paying industry (e.g. investment banking, where you can make a half million dollars a year your first year out of grad school) helps, too. |

The way this economy is headed stocks are not the answer, nor is real state anymore. Investing is always a key plan as well as saving a certain amount of your paychecks and putting them into a CD I believe they are called (ask your bank), but what that does is stores money you put into and earn interest on it until a date you would like. Some jobs that have high incomes would be a chef, or economist. It also depends on your definition of rich is. |

Start a Roth IRA... Go to your bank and let them explain it to you. You pretty much put money into the stock market and you let investers handle you money. You have to start with 500 dollars or so but the turnover it excellent. Also chose a front load. Which means the money you put in is taxed so you can just take the money out tax free. In case taxes are higher in the future *cough* OBAMA *cough*. Then only down fall is that you have to wait to withdraw any money till your 59.5 years old.. unless you want a penalty. |
