You should look into getting a savings account that charges you some ridiculas ccharge to debit from it. Then put a chunk of your paycheck in it every week. The huge fees should keep you from using unless it's an emergency. |

When you cash your checks put the money somewhere difficult to get to and don't use credit for anything.
I have a roth IRA and it is the one thing I never touch. Savings accounts can help, but that money is a little too accessible. At least it keeps it out of your checking though so consider putting the % of money that will used for the car (80% or whatever you decide) in a savings account, and put the rest in checking / cash. |

Stop buying those things. However, if you can't I suppose a good pair of shoes will be GREAT for walking to school. Hope it's not in another state. Put a portion of your paycheck in a savings account and LEAVE IT THERE! You can do it! |

eyy i have the same problem as u. wut i did was wen i have a job, i put 1/2 of my chek in a seprate savings account in the bank and the other half to spend on other things. IT REALLY HELPS. i acutally saved over $1100 in a 9 month period |

be thrifty. by this i mean find the cheapest thing you like and buy that. also decide if u need it first. If you dont have a set amount that you put away each pay check. watch what you spend

Well, if you tell yourself: I have a shoe fetish, so I have to buy new shoes every week..well frankly, it's not gonna work. I didn't quit smoking by telling myself that I'm a smoker and that is that. You've got to be strong. Make a budget. Figure out your monthly/weekly income. Then figure out a budget for food, clothes, rent etc. Add shoes in there if you want, but balance it out. Purchase what you NEED not want. You need food, shelter and clothing (clothing only to some extent. You dont need Abercrombie sweaters) Save as much as you can buy spending as little as possible. It is kind of simple really. I'm doing the same thing right now. I told myself that I can only go grocery shopping every three weeks. Even if that means I have to eat canned carrots for 2 days :) It's all about balance my friend. Go out, have fun, but be frugal about your money. Good luck! |

Open saving account in bank. WaMu is good one for saving. If not the give it to your parents if you trust them to save it for u. |

IF YOU HAVE A JOB:
If u have a job then you need to make a
chart and hang it on your bathroom merrior
or your bedroom door, or somewhere where you
would see it everyday.
on that chart u need to put a callum of
days of the week and a callum of the money you make that week whatever day it is.
Now you need to make a little thing where
u make a bodget that u can spend that day and
make sure u do not go over that bodget
(right it in the square)
and save the money u put aside.

set priorities, cut up credit cards, set up a direct deposit into a bank for a portion of your check, say 50$ a month, that way if you dont see it you wont spend it, basically all that shoes, bags, clothes, though..... you dont need. |

im 21 and have an insane shoe fetish, and the way that i beat it is i started a savings account, but its in my mothers name. (im very close with my mom) so that way i can save money, but its harder for me to get the money back out because id have to ask my mom to go to the bank and get me extra money. since it really is a hassle for me to go through her, i end up not taking any out of the account and saving hundreds of dollars a month. =) |

like instead of spending 50 quid on hair cuts
do it ur self or get a friend to do it
if u want to save money instead of buying enough food for the week get enought food for 2 weeks and sve the left of the month
also if u keep a box and every time u do some thing wrong or
something bad but a pound in the box ##
ans soo there will be loads in the box
