I sit down and go through circulars each week, and decide where the best place is to shop. Then I get my coupons together and see what I can save, and if it is worth it. Seems like a lot of work, but I have saved over $150 on a $300 purchase. |

Coupons = $$ but only if you use them for things you would buy anyway. Its no bargain to use them just cause you have them if you aren't going to use the stuff you purchase with them. Buy in quantity and freeze half. Meats especially are usually cheaper per pound in the family size packages. Stock up on staples such as canned goods that will keep for a long time whenever they are on sale so you will never have to buy them at full price. Again, use coupons. They are just like money that you cut out of the paper or magazines. Go grocery shopping after lunch or after any meal for that matter when you won't be hungry. People tend to overspend on food when they shop on an empty stomach because everything looks soooo good at the time. If there is a sale on perishable items but only in quantity, get a friend to shop with you and split the items between you. You each pay half but at a lower price. These are just a few ideas and I am sure others will have many more. Good luck! |

Find a place that does price matching and coupon-cut for EVERY store in your area, and then take them to that store that does price matching (Wal-mart, for example), and you'll get the most for your money. |

Get the Fliers (ads) about each grocery stores and buy the specials.
I have a stand-up freezer and always buy meat specials and put them in the freezer, then after a while I always have a big variety, at the sale price, All I do is unthaw & cook.
And I have a pantry system for buying spales and canned goods on sale. |

It's kind of like a sport for some people. I know someone who buys 5 Sunday papers just for the cupons! You have to do a lot of research to find the best prices. |
