Go find a place that you would be satisfied with; then investigate the rent, utilities, transportation costs, furnishings, etc. When you get the monthly figure, begin to save money from the job that will support the bills and put away enough to cover 3-4 months.

If this will take longer than you want, then adjust your standards until you get a happy medium between comfort and time.

Sometimes free living is worth more than the hastle at your age.

Stay home and take advantage of the free rent as long as possible. The real world is not as fun as you may think.

Don't do it. I'm 20 and work at a prison making average money. I just moved out a week ago and I'm already wishing I were back at home with mY parents. Its no joke because all of the bills coming in have ur name on them and ur the one obligated to pay them. Stay at home as long as possible so you can save up and get the home ur looking for and don't have to worry about going broke. Good Luck

finish up school and then move out. It will be hard for you to find a decent paying job now. Even if you have a degree, it will still be hard. Just focus on your study and do well.

Just because you live at home doesn't mean you always have to be home.

Yes - here it goes.

1. Get a decent job and keep it.
2. Put 50% of every pay into a savings account automatically.
3. Check the bulletin boards at school. You may be able to find a reasonably priced basement apartment.
4. Don't be picky while you are unemployed with no money and a full time student!

DUDE!!!
i think you better find a job and a damed good one. do you r ealise what rent is today plus utilities food and clothing cost to by the sounds of it you want to maintain the same standard of living you have now. i think you better stay at home and finish your education.

When I was in college, I applied at the local housing authority and got an apartment for around $18 a month. It was about a month wait, cuz they put you on a waiting list. It was so cheap because I was a full time student, and I didn't have a job at the time I applied. But once I did get a job the rent went up, but it was still really cheap. That was only about 6 years ago.
You should go apply and get on the waiting list and when they find you a place, then you can move.

Look on your local apartment listings on the internet and in the paper, since you don't wanna live w anyone else living with friends is out of the question, apply for (no joke) twenty jobs, you don't have to go to all the interviews if they ask you to come, just tell them you found a better job. Ask your friends and family if they know anyone moving out or renting out a house

first you need a job most places will ask you for 1st month , last month , and a desposit, just to movwe in then you will need to turn lights on they have a desposit most places then food bill, and telephone and any thing else you will need bed, couch, table , chairs ,etc, so you are looking at close if not over 2000 to 25000. just to move in for 1st month are you really ready for that think about it save every doime you make.

Save up a BIG emergency fund and I hope you find a high-paying job.

Perhaps you should take it one step at a time. Get a job, start saving money, then think about maybe planning to move out in the future.

Well, you are looking for a much too perfect place and job. You need to compromise, like share an apartment with yourself and 2 friends and get a job at the campus bookstore.

a touch of destiny...
as much as you don't like it.
i'm afraid moving in with some one else is the best way to start'
at least for the first few months. THAN you can move into a place of you're own after you've become firmer on you're feet.

though id still share a place with at least one other purson untill you finish college.
that way you'd be able to save up for a much better place.
when you have graduated.

lol.. you are going to have to lower your standards. You will definitely have to get a roommate.

well, try craigslists. It's a good site. But first and foremost, you will want to try to obtain a good stable source of income. rent is very expensive. You might even consider moving in with roomates, it's a great learning experience, you become more open, and aware, of different cultures and people. I would greatly suggest to anyone, at least once in your life, move into a big house and rent a room, with GOOD people. Preferably, with your interests, and such. You'll have a blast, and you'll end up saving a lot of money, and come out more enriched. Being completely alone sometimes, is not a very postiive thing. When you want to be alone, just close your door.
