There's no magic formula. It's just willpower. Put the money a little bit out of reach (a savings account, investment, anywhere away from your wallet and your checking account), and don't spend it. |

we arranged for Direct Deposit so once we had the money, we went online, paid our credit cards and were done. We use mycheckfree.com since you can pay a lot of bills online and it's totally free. That way the money never entered our hand and our debt was paid off. Also, once you get the check, wait for it to clear, and just write out checks to whoever you owe money to, send them, and THEN go to the store if you really need to. dont spend a penny until they clear and then treat yourself to Starbucks to reward youself for not spending. lol |

Don't spend so much. Put a little aside each week. Before you do spend ask yourself whether or not you really need 2 outfits this week or can you just buy one. Take a lunch to work.If you search hard enough you can curb your spending. |

You have to put it into an IRA, because once its in, you can't take it out without heavy duty fines and penalties, but it grows fairly quickly while its in. |

Look up ING Direct on the internet. ingdirect.com. Send it to them. Make $25. for opening the account. Receive a good interest rate. You wont be able to touch it for about a week. By then you will have had time to decide if you really want to spend it. Prevents impulsiveness. HAPPY SAVING! |

An easy way to do it this: First, you pay your bills. Second, take care of necessary shopping such as groceries. Third, after you have paid for the first two, then you pay yourself. It's easy when you think of it that way - making a savings account deposit is like paying yourself. |
