if you have a job, take a portion of that check and put it in a separate savings account, let the bank lock it so you can't take anything out
i had the same problem with spending it instead of saving haha, with what i just told you, i have 8 thousand in savings right now. |

First off, if you're planning on saving any decent sum of money, get a bank account, not a piggy bank. Secondly, whenever you feel like buying something, wait and come back the next day. If you have thought about it all night and decide it's something you really need or would like to have then go back and buy it. If you think about it and realize that it's something you can do without, then don't go back and buy it.
Finally, it's easier to not buy things when you don't go shopping. Stay away from unneccessary shopping trips. |

1, cut up your credit and debit cards
2, only take what you can afford to spend out with you in cash
3, don't borrow from anyone.
4, only withdrawn the smallest denomination note from the ATM
5, have your salary paid directly into you bank account |

Go on the Jimmy Choo website, pick our your favorite pair of shoes. Now you've got incentive to save, so everytime you get paid instead of going out and buying stuff you don't need put it in a jar labelled "New Shoes" So keep saving and saving for those shoes, once you have done that even if you don't buy them, go look for a bag and start you saving for a new bag to go with it.
It's what I did, I managed to save £700 in two weeks. And now I've saved that much I don't even want to spend it on shoes or a bag. |

get a saftey deposit box or go to the bank and ask if they have a savings account where money gets deposited but you will not have access to it from your debit card |

Get a safe or when you want to spend money, think about what you are losing. Like, you don't want to be poor. That will help you not to spend. |

Make sure you have a savings account open, and always save half of what you make that is not spent on necessities such as rent, food, and gas.
When you hit a decent amount of savings, put some of it into a short-term account with higher interest. This has two advantages: you can't touch it while it's in there, so you cant spend it.... and you actually make a profit!
When I bought my car, I immediately put all my leftover savings into such an account. I made $400 the first year on it just for leaving it alone! It was well worth sacrificing a daily latte. |

i dont know if this will work for you but it does for me. if your working change the with holding on your federal tax forms. i have my job take out an additional 15 dollars state and 15 dollars federal. its a savings account in a way that you cant touch until the end of the year when you file for your refund. then when you get your refund you can put that money in a savings account or use it for something responsible like paying off a loan or credit card. you can increase or decrease the amount for whatever your goal is.
another thing you can do is set up a saving account in someone elses name. i have a savings account in my boyfriends name so i cant withdraw money. im a terrible spender as well. so i have to clear it with him whenever i want money out of the account. there is no debit card to the account so it makes it harder to get access to it.
i also have a bank account to cash my payroll checks and and to pay bills. i dont have a debit card to this account either. i have a prepaid debit card i carry on me that i load with money and use during the week. it put myself on a budget and load like 2 or 3 hundred on it and thats my allowance for the next two weeks. my prepaid debit card works everywhere like a normal bank card. i can buy gas or go shopping at walmart and it works the same. and when money is low on the card, places will deny the transaction instead of worrying about overdraft fees at a bank.
hopefully some of this will help you.. |

You have to create a monthly spending plan in order to keep track of your bills. What you have left over will be your savings. |

Look there are difernet ways , one find a boyfriend who gave you anything you need, so you dont have to spend money from you poquet, 2 am sure you have a bank acc# so tell them that from your pay check takes XX amount to your savings acc. this acc.wont let you withdraw unless is an extreamly emergency, and 3 you should know how much money you make and how much you spend, so try to cach up a control of that. but certenly the boyfrind will fit you.lol |

First saving is to pay off your debts. It is a false economy to be saving money while you have debts as the interest on your debts will far outweigh the interest on your savings.
Right - you say you keep spending money. How? Where is this money coming from?
If it is from your parents then you need to tell them to curb your money and have them put some of it away for you. It is from work then you need to curb your access to your money.
Have your wages paid into a hard to access bank account. Make sure it has a decent interest rate.
1. A joint account with someone you trust. This means that you will only be able to get access to the money with the authorisation of someone else. Set yourself a budget, a realistic budget. Then the rest have that sent via direct payment to a long-term savings plan. This will mean a higher-rate of interest and depending what term you chose you will be unable to get your savings till that term expires. If you spend all the money in the account that you have access to then tough - you have no more money until the next instalment.
2. Have your money paid into a long-term savings account that you can not withdraw from. This is hard-core as you need living money but if you just have money to burn then either way you need an account that you can not get access to and a spending account. Your spending your money because you can.
What are you spending the money on? Is it things you don't really need? If it is it could be a symptomatic of a bigger problem and you need to address that first as it is the spending you enjoy and not the fruits of your spending. |

Put yourself on restriction:
1. Open three bank accounts 1 for bills 2. for savings and the other for fun/play money.
Deposit money in the accounts for bills and savings first, then put a little money in the play account.
2. Keep money in the bank, not on you. Don't use atm or credit cards.
3.Leave your wallet at home and only take ID w/you, so you are not tempted.
4. Take lunch and snacks to work.
5. Forget about pricey coffee and snacks.
6. Check out books form the library about budgets and the millionaire next door, rich dad poor dad, etc and you will see how rich people become rich and stay rich.
7. Get a roomate.
8. Clip coupons.
9. Become Frugal Fanny and do not spend any money on wants/ luxury items unless it is from your play money account.
10. Say no to people asking for money (office gifts, candy/cookies sales, salespeople, etc)
Good Luck and hope this helps.... |

Get an bank account or bring a certian amount of money and only use that amount. Also you should give it to your mom or someone that you trust to keep and they will keep track or your money and how much you are spending. |

I would open a bank account and save some within a saving account and put another in checking thats what i do. I have a debit card and thats pretty good because I am colllege student and I know how that is. so you can still spend but its only withing a limit like you can put even $500 dollars if you dont trust your own instincts . And the rest will be in savings.
And if i spend something out of saving, I put it back with interest. Its a great way to save and bulid interest. Try citibank or washington mutual they have great interest rates.
hope this helps |
