How can I survive?
Our montly income is $2,000 and all of our debt from college and credit cards, that we used when my hubby was laid off, and other bills is coming to 1,800 per month.. just minimum payments! I have an 8 month old son so getting a second job is not an option for me and my hubby works 12 hour shifts so he can't either. I have only $200 every month for food, diapers, wipies, gas! We don't have any food and make too much for food stamps. What can I do?!?

Try consolidating your bills or remortgaging your home. Then work extra hard to pay off your debt. Don't get anymore credit cards they are evil!! Or consider downsizing, until you get back on your feet. We have been in similar situations and we made it through by consolidating a few times and even tore up credit cards cause if you can't pay with cash, you probably don't need it.
Sign up for a food bank too.Even if it's just once and a while.
Carpool and keep the lights off as much as possible
Conserve everywhere and don't be too proud to ask you parents for help.
And most of all don't have another child till thing s turn around!
Good luck

Oh and don't give anymoney to God he doesn't need it.When you are able feel free but right now you need it more than others!

Can you apply for a financial hardship and delay the college bills at least for awhile? Is there a way of transferring a credit card balance to a 0% for x amount of months card to help pay off some of the balance.

If you can't get an extra income you'll get have to S-T-R-E-T-C-H that $200. I would start by putting some in a saving acct. No matter how little each month put some away.

Do you use cpns? Here are some legit printable cpn sites:

http://coupons.smartsource.com//index.aspx?Link=5S2ZUA6PWPEPO

www.coolsavings.com

Use these sites and cpns from the Sunday paper and sales ads to shop for groceries.

You might want to consider looking at this forum board:

www.mycoupons.com click on shopping boards, click on TOT (Tips on how to save at the grocery store etc)

Remember stores like Target, Rite Aid, Walgreens will take their store cpn and a manuf cpn (from Sunday's paper or Internet cpn)

Try out www.mycoupons.com click on shopping boards, click on Just Freebies

www.fatwallet.com

www.slickdealz.net

www.frugalhacks.com definately might want to check this site out

To supplement your income and both sites are free:
www.mypoints.com earn giftcards from reading emails

www.bzzagent.com

Have you thought about trying to get a job at a daycare? I've worked at some before where employees were able to bring their children to work.

As to the suggestion to bankruptcy, that will not cover your college loans. I will keep you in my prayers. I'd suggest you read some of suze orman's books - Is getting a roommate a option? Maybe a family member who could baby sit?

To be concise, if you have to pay for anything it is a scam and nothing is free. However, there are many legitimate survey sites that will pay you. Unfortunately, the amount you can earn is insignificant. Some sites will pay reasonably well (usually around $10 per 30 minute survey) but it is not possible to receive this money for a long period of time (Usually several months while actively completing surveys). With this the case, the company relies on you spending a lot of time completing their surveys and eventually becoming 'inactive' so they don't have to pay you.

I did find a LEGITIMATE site that will pay as soon as you complete a survey. The key is to be patient and have a STRATEGY before you start. This site you can outsmart and actually make money. If you are really interested in making significant money you must put yourself into the target Demographic (Educated middle-class married with kids type people). This will lead to a lot of survey completion money. Most IMPORTANTLY, you must be patient and be sure to answer carefully so you fit the target Demographic. NEVER click random bubbles or you will be wasting your time.

Signing up for this can be tedious but in the end after you complete “you portrait” you will eventually get survey offers which will pay. Just be Patient and you shall prosper like me..

Good Luck ;-) …………. and have good strategy!

ive been in similar situations , the state wouldnt help me because my husband was navy and i left him , hadnt lived with him for 2 years and filed for divorce twice-he claimed "soldiers and sailors relief act" and became immune to all legal action and i couldnt get a divorce. basically the state said his income counted even though i didnt live with him and he paid no support for me or my child, so being in that situation i had really no other choice but to find food myself, if you live in forested areas try taking walks and picking edible vegetation, go fishing, set traps for rabits i know it sounds horrible but sometimes thats what you gotta do to survive. you can also check with local food pantries to see if they have anything they can help you with sometimes church pantries dont count income

i'd also like to add that you can get diapers from salvation army, they will only give you i cant remember if its 6 or 8 a day but it helps

Tell it like it is
You might check into calling the credit card companies to see if they will reduce your interest rate (I used to work for bank of america credit card dept) sometimes they will because you've been a loyal customer and have paid on time. It doesn't hurt to call in and check to see if they will reduce your apr or you could even ask if they will increase your credit limits BUT you must be wise and use that money specifically for either paying off another high interest card or for diapers and wipes ONLY. You can call your student loans and explain your situation, let them know your incomes and they should work with you, they may even reduce your payments. With that kind of income you should be able to get that womens, children and infant program where you get free milk and cheese. Your family needs the help during this difficult time. Maybe you can find someone to carpool with to save on gas...just pitch in some money to whoever is driving...hmmm , other than that i'm out of ideas for now.

That sounds like my situation only I am a single parent with two kids I make to much to receive food stamps as well I have 2 year old and 14 year old. stop at what you are crying about you have a husband. step back and look at your situation from the outside you might not need a job. but start saving Go and open up you a 25.00 savings account. you have to start right where you are in the middle of this mess when you open the 25.00 savings account you have taken the first step on your way out. Remember this you are on your way to debt free. and a better quality of living Oh I hope that you will start honoring God with the 10% of the income Mal. 3-10 try it and watch it work out only if you are trusting God with your family You and your husband that's two heads which is better than my one. It is possible. Well God don't need your money but is He not your source of supplier? Hey sometimes I have to tell God "Father if you don't help me what will I do I have put your first in my finances and He does send his angels to help me God is my source of supplier.

file for bankruptcy. It sucks, it will hurt your credit for 7 or so years, but it sounds like you are trapped with no other way out.
