There is actually a lot more that you could do ... sit down and write out a 'flyer' of the things that you can do ... mow lawns, pull weeds, clean up after parties, babysit, even clean the gutters if you are not afraid of working on a ladder. Have this 'typed up' and printed out, with your name and a good phone number to call you (you or a parent must be there to answer the phone, but you may put certain hours to call on the flyer) and the get at least 500 of these printed out (you can start with fewer, but the more you have out there, the more calls you'll get, and the more jobs you'll get) and take them through the neighborhoods around where you live and put them between the doorknob and the door (NEVER put them into a 'mailbox' because that is a CRIME and you could be prosecuted). TALK TO EVERYONE YOU SEE, and tell them that you are 'looking for work.' Carry a good 'calender' with the hours of every day of this summer on it, and write in the 'appointments' and the 'hourly wage' you'll be expecting and give them a piece of paper with the same information on it. Then sit back and take a deep breath, because you are going to be a VERY BUSY young man ... you don't happen to live in Seattle, do you, because I have some 'work' you could do, and I 'pay well' ... $10 an hour or more ... |

A paper route is a good way to earn money and learn responsibility. Another way I thought of is a lawn mowing service or even walking dogs. Find out if there are older people living in your neighborhood that you could do yard work for or washing windows. Something that they need done but may not be physically able to do themselves.
Just some suggestions....Good luck !!! |

you are too young to work and the government will not allow you to do so. my advise then would be to hire a bunch of illegals to do the work, pay them meagerly and reap the profits. this you could get away with. |

At that age I was cutting lawns in the summer, and the money wasn't bad. The next several summers I worked construction as a hod carrier and the money was even better. |

The things you can't do don't leave much when you are 12. Do you have those bikes that ride around with ice cream? try that or babysit. Beg Grandma and Grandpa for $300 is your last option |

mowing lawn for 2 weeks will get to your goal faster, other than begging from your parents or grandparents! |

what you can do is make paper machet by wetting paper, tearing it,stacking it in the shape you want it to be,and painting it.
you can then sell those little docorations.
also, you can have a bike or car wash.
prices i would do:
paper machet for 3 dollars
car wash for 8 dollars
bike wash for 4 dollars fifty cents |

I actually think a paper route is a great idea. That's something you should be allowed to do. Starting at age 9, that's an ok.
Ok, let's see.........why don't you act ( remember to do this naturally, or your parents will think you're faking and will not accept your wish) as I was saying, why don't you act just quite nice and easy on your parents. You know, don't get mad, and if you do have a reason, generally, be a really good person (or a little bit or something like that. I'm not saying you're mean or anything). Because let's just say you're parents want you to really earn this. To parents, it may depend on your school grades, your behaviour at both school and at home.
I hope this help hope you get a wii! |

Have a dog walking / washing service.
I used to clean out rain gutters when I was a kid. Just on 1 story houses in my neighborhood. I had a pvc tube, a hi pressure nozzle, a ball valve and a few fittings. I charged people $5 to clean a small 1 story house.. that was a long time ago. you can probably get more now.
You can also make a little change writing reviews on epinions.com. |

You state that you can't do those things. Is there a physical limitation or you don't WANT to do them.
Here is a suggestion: Go to your local Senior Citizen Center and offer your services to the seniors. Many of them can't take the garbage out, bring in the paper, need someone to run to the store to get milk, etc. Depending on the size of your town these might be quick and easy things to do that can net you a few bucks each time. Good luck. |
