Try going into business for yourself. Open a pet-sitting business and charge whatever the market will allow. People are sorely in need of such a service and would be happy to patronize an enterprising young man in his first business endeavor. |

About the only job a 12 year old can get legally is a paper route. |

The only job you should have now is school and getting good grades so you can go to college and become a successful professional adult.
There are no jobs for 12 year olds because you are not legally old enough to have a regular job. How would you get there anyway? |
|

lol

well i am also 12. you have to have a wroking permit and have to be 14 yrs old and 9 months to get one. i make money by helping my mom with buisness but since you can work at a real job u can only do the stuff listed above like babysitting or lemonade stand ..... |

Don't knock babysitting or yard work. It's tax free !
You're not old enough for working papers...so you don't have many options. |

Sorry I may get long winded: First I want to say that income has to be geared to expenses. In this day and time in USA - an income of $50 to $100 per week is more than the average 12 year old needs.
This assumes that there is parents; or guardians. Although a twelve year old is trading their youth for money, the hours available after school and weekends have to be identified.
You can not work at most "labor industry" jobs. So odd-jobs are the best opportunities. Usually anything that makes it easier for someone to get done what they have to do, is what defines the job. A friend of mine use to dig for worms; when he found them he saved them in a basket. On Saturday morning he sold them to the fishermen who came to our local pond. (Made about $1.00 from each fisherman) 5 to 10 dollars a week (35 years ago).
Contact me with your geographic location - I could make better recommendations. |

I dont think so because of the child labor law |

It's illegal to hire a 12-year-old, so I guess it'll be very difficult to find a job.
But you can always make money by selling stupid lemonade, as you said, or babysitting your neighbors' children, or looking after their pets when they're on vacation.
Good luck. |

our school started healthy eating a couple of years ago, and they took away the vending machines, so a few f us started selling chocolate, sweets, crisps and drinks like coke and fanta etc.
we made between 40 and 60 pounds a week, if your in america thats like 80-120 dollars.
we eventually got told we couldnt anymore, but we made lots out of it while we could |

you wont be able to, i think the legal age to work is 14 or15 |
|

You can't. It's not legal for you to work. You need working papers, and you're too young for that. |

sorry mate but you have to be 14 or 16 where im from. when I was your age I caddied at a local golf course doing two bags for 18 holes(3.5 hours) you can make 60-100 dollars which is great and no taxes on it. Its not a paycheck but its a great thing to do until your of age. Good luck! |

thats a tough one. its hard to actually get a paychek so young but maybe you can get a voulenteer job somewhere small and the can pay you often thats wat i did. thats the only thing i can think of to help you out. |

Lets see....there is walking dogs, community service, working at a mall store, baby sitting counts cause you get paid, and you can also sell a lot of sea shells, beautiful things, maybe even something you make. Like a neclace or bracelet. Or work at a goodwill company or justing voulentering to help the homeless. You can ever teach kids how to draw or be an art teachewr if your really desprite. |

Lol. You got me, those were going to be my suggestions.
In order to get a "real job" with a pay check you must be over 15 or 16, the age is depending on the job position you are looking for and what state you live in. But you can start by doing volunteer work, so that by the age of 13 someone can take you more seriously and know that you are a diligent person and ready to receive pay checks. Hope all goes well. |

Ask your parents to sign you onto ebay. You can sell all your things you dont need no more, or the things you have outgrown. .You can also sell those gifts from gradma that you really dont like :) jk. when you sell an item, they send you the money(usually through paypal: your parents may want to do that for you) and then you ship your item. Its not that hard, I got my little brother (12years old too!) to start selling on ebay, and he's loving it! Try it. |

Unfortunately there isnt a whole lot you can do at 12 years old. Most employers wont even consider someone under 14-15 years old.
I would recommend something like a paper route. My friend delivered papers from when she was 12-14 and made about $100 a week. If you dont want babysitting or mowing the lawn, there arent many more options.
Good Luck~ |

I work for my dad's business, and he gives me paychecks. I get $10 an hour. Maybe you could work something out like that with your parents. Just and idea. |

Hey, Im 12 and i work for a Chocolate company. The lady that owns it pays me! So find someone in your school that owns a business(parent or grandparent) and ask them for a job. that is how i got mine! |

You need to be 14 to get working papers unfortunately.
However, you can still do "off the books" type jobs.
It helps if you know someone who owns a business and can have you do small things.
Farm work... maybe even restaraunt work is possible if you're lucky.
Dont be so quick to discount babysitting, I did that when I was age 10-13. Nowadays you can charge up to eight, nine, ten dollars an hour or more, depending. Tax free that's some good dough. |

a legal, proper, paycheck job for a 12 year old?....
im sorry but there isn't one.... even if it was legal, proving yourself capable and responsible at that age would be impossible....
you'll have to wait...if you really needed money i think you would reduce yourself to getting a kids job(like the ones you mentioned).... |

I worked at a local corn stand. I made 7.50 an hour. |
