i really desperately need a new computer... i am trying to go further with my art (doujins, manga, anime, etc.) and the computer i have won't work with what i need for this to happen... i have to restart it every 30 minutes and i am also using it for homeschooling... the laptop i am interested in has a lot of space (which i need) and is easy to use and has a long battery. i also desperately need a laptop so my mother does not have to leave me home all day. her work has wi-fi from the cofee shop in the store and she is willing to take me with her everyday so i can do my work from there. the problem is, i can't figure out ways to make the money... my mother won't let me babysit, petsit, mow lawns, rake leaves, have a yard sale, etc. and i my parents can't pay for it themselves. i really need this so i can be recognized early for my art and learn to perfect it ^^ i also have designs for mugs, t shirts, mouse pads, etc. and they are for sale on the web but i don't know how to advertise... and i can't do ebayalso because they fee your paypal/ credit card and i can't afford that... plus i have nothing to sell, at all. and please don't suggest any GPT sites... i tried them (cashcrate, pandaresearch, inboxdollars, etc.) and none of them work...
if there are any other ways i can make money, plz tell!!! i really need this laptop!!! and, the laptops that are like $400 won't work because they either don't have enough memory, don't stay running without a battery long enough, or are too big and bulky to fit in my bag along with my text books...

Not much out there for kids...but you are really a breath of fresh air to want to earn it on your own especially since mom won't let you do anything. Try talking to her again and tell her you are trying to be responsible and do this for yourself. God Bless you and good luck.
Your mamma is raising you right honey.... I disagree saying this is unethical because you are so young. You are earning your own money for it...that is not unethical. Asking parents to strap themselves and buy it for you is unethical. This is great...you are being responsible and finding solutions to YOUR problems. Congratulations. You are growing up in a way many teens are not.
When you turn 14 some restaurants hire you for bus boys etc.. ..you can make better and more consistent money that way. |

Think about starting a blog....find a subject you are intersted in or even just a simple diary...You can add adverts to it and if enough people click on these adverts you get paid for it! |

Go get some stencils for numbers. Get 0-9, of course. Get a stencil for a rectangular box. Buy a few cans of white spray paint, and a few cans of black.
Now go door-to-door offering to paint the address on the curb. Lots of houses aren't painted, or they're very faded.
You'll need to tape everything on there, to make sure you get a good fit, and it doesn't come out looking horrible.
Charge them 10 dollars for black numbers alone, or 20 for a white box with the black numbers. |

ill tell you what i did, house clean for someone. it ads up fast. cleaning someones house you can get 10-20 per hour depending where you live.
ask you school if there are any opportunities for students to make money, thats also something i did. you can work in the cafeteria. remember it will take you months of hard work to get this money theres no quick fix. you could also sell your current computer for cheap |

not a chance kiddo you anime/manga arent comparable to the japanese artwork and im basing this off of all amerian anime/manga find a new way. me being a fan would buy somthing made from a japanese artist before i even thought to buy it off an american but if your dedicated then go to a booth at an anime convention and display your artwork and rent out a table to sell stuff, kid it's such a longshot GOOD LUCK. |

realistically, other than getting a proper job (and if your mother won't let you mow lawns, etc then you probably wouldn't be allowed a job right?) there's not a lot you can do. See how much your parents can afford, then work out how to get the rest yourself. Give up your birthday presents, if that's coming up.
Otherwise only ways I can think of are asking your neighbours for donations or asking if they have any jobs you can do. Or you could sell cakes to the kids on your street, check with their parents first. Good luck. |

Thats a tough spot. You might want to try getting a used or refurbished computer that isn't so expensive. Thats a really big price tag. I understand you need the memory but any step up from your current computer would be good, wouldn't it?
Making money is tough, especially if your mom won't let you work!!! I can't imagine anything you can do except blogging and being paid for the ads but that takes time to build a fan base. Try to talk your mom into letting you work. Tell her its an important part of life to take on responsiblity and learn to provide for yourself. Ask her what you can do to help her trust you more and let you work.
Either way if you absolutely love your art and want to do it, don't give up. Don't ever give up on what you believe in and a way will come even if you never saw it coming. Just keep trying. |

I would talk to your parents again about it, baby sitting and lawn care are honorable tasks. If you work hard enough doing odd jobs you can make enough money for your computer. And it will also give you the skill of money management and saving. I would try your hardest to make your folks see that working now when your young, for something you want is only a good thing and will give you skills and teach you habits that will help you for the rest of your life. hope that helps. |
