when i was your age i managed a acre garden ,cut grass shoveled snow, and an idea of my own was going around subs and painted addresses on curbs all you need is stencil and a can of paint i charged 5.00 a address first one paid for materials and once one neighbor sees it they will all want it done. also you could go to your local pizza place and offer to pass out flyers for them, lotta times they will pay cash. good luck |

You could do odd jobs for people. Maybe you could advertise that you hang christmas lights, or do other holiday setup for a fee in a newspaper. I know our local paper gives students free work wanted ads. |

Offer Winter lawn prep services - Buy bulk - Winter lawn fertilizer and a spreader. Rake lawns and fertilize.. Charge $100 a lawn (more or less dep on size) make $75 per lawn.. Do 8 lawns. |

That's only about $60-$70 a week if you break it down.
Do you get an allowance? Can you leverage some more chores into more money? Does it snow where you are, if so go around shoveling driveways whenever it snows, rake leaves, etc.
If you can get a job legally where you live (check with your school guidance counselor, they'll know) try to get a job. If you were to work 4 days a week for 4 hours a day earning min. wage you'd be making about $80 a week. It's not impossible. |

Find a location where you can do car washes. If you know someone that owns a mechanic shop or auto repair, maybe they will let you charge to do car washes for a few weekends until you get your $600 |

Wow, that's a very expensive birthday present for a 14 year old to give. Can you ask somebody else to help you with that or go in with you on it? You might have something to sell, but whatever it is, you'll need permission since it will probably be something somebody else gave to you.
If you don't happen to come up with all that money by their birthday, take a photograph of what you wanted to get them with an I. OWE. U. note attached and let them know you're working on it.

I once read about a fella that went door to door selling peep-holes, installed, for 20 dollars, each. It takes about 20 minutes of your time, including clean-up. The hardware investment can be between 2-5 dollars each so you net 15-18 dollars for each hole. 14 might be a little young to be drilling holes in people's doors but maybe not.
