Babysit. There's a big demand for babysitting during the holidays. Parents get babysitters while they shop and while they attend company Christmas parties. Put together a little flyer that states your fees and hours and put it on all the doors in your neighbor.
Something like:
Hi, I'm your neighbor and I do babysitting for a reasonable fee - $5.00/hr. (or whatever). I'm available to babysit while you go Christmas Shopping or while you're enjoying your Christmas Party's. I'm 13 - very reliable, responsible and I love children.

Well you can't mow the lawn now because it's getting colder,lol. Seriously though, your only thirteen, so you probably would need a work permit to get a part-time job. You probably would be able to get one too,because stores need help doing the big holiday season. You could easily make enough money by March.Also you could offer your services to various neighbors,or friends,by babysitting,or taking care of their pets ( you know walking them and such). Another way to make money is to sell things that you don't want on ebay.com. If you can draw good, you can offer your services on ebay as well,by doing art commissions. But if none of that works just tell all your relatives and friends to give you money for Christmas. I really don't think your mom will have a problem giving you the money either,she probably will end up giving you something when you go on that trip. |

For a young girl your age babysitting is one thing I have always heard of to earn money. You might try folks in your neighborhood, church, extended family, etc. And while you said you are a girl about mowing lawns, there is always raking leaves this time of the year (and it is not nasty or as strenuous as mowing). Unfortunatley the only way to make that much money is either for somone to give it to you or through hardwork at your age. Some good ways to make alot of money are by babysitting or getting a paper route, thoes are some of the highest paying with not to much work involved. Then again t if time is a limit then you have no choice but to ask sombodey after making as much as you can. |

Well since you're a girl try baby sitting, try doing a fundraiser, save up money. Maybe you could do the fundraiser with friends and share the profir. Try selling cookies at school or something!!!

Would you consider babysitting? I've done it professionally in the past and earned pretty good money. If you began right away and saved every penny, you might have time enough to meet your goal.
If this sounds like a possibility, you might see if you could work for a relative, family friend, or a close neighbor at first, providing your state laws allow someone of your age to babysit. Where we live, it's alright to leave younger children with a capable 12 year old.

I suggest to get a job, e.g ask to help out at a store or paper-boy. Or you can have garage sale and sell some stuff or simmarly you could sell some things you are willing to give away to shops who take them 2nd hand or you can sell to friends and family. I also suggest to do chores around the house e.g. mowing the lawn or washing dishes, and ask for some money. Or you could go round asking people whether you could help them do chores (e.g. mowing the lawn, babysitting) or things like that.
Also, if you can, ask your parents to pitch in has well.

So when you say you 'don't have time' or don't 'want to do those things' what you are really saying that you want to get money for free. I'm afraid I will have to dissapoint you, there is no way to make money for nothing. You better get used this eternal fact of life early on in your life. To get money you need to give something of value in return. That something for most people is time, as most people work for their money, that is, they give up some of their time to someone else in exchange for money.
Here's some ideas of what you can do for money:
-babysitting,.
- Help people remove junk, collect peoples unwanted old stuff and organize a yard sale to sell it.
-Offer to help elderly and busy people with their grocery shopping.
- Sell your old comic books, toys or other stuff on ebay
- Offer to carry advertising signs for your local shops on busy streets. |
