im about to leave my boyfriend (unbeknownst to him) and have been saving some cash for the future. Ive saved $5,000, but even though its a small amount of money, 50 $100 bills takes up a lot of room in a small apartment, and i fear my snooping man will find it. ive no friends i trust to keep it safe for me. how can i hide it? ive thought about opening a bank account, but cant risk having statements sent to my home. thought about opening a T.A.B. account, but i remember something about them having to investigate any transactions over $300?

-Get an old hardcover.
-Hollow out a rectangle(sp?) in the middle.
-put your money in there and put it randomly in a bookshelf or whatever.
Another suggestion, why dont you put it in your normal bank account. if u have one.
-another, keep it with you,
-Another thing, if you cant trust your boyfriend with money, how can you trust him to live with you?

Open an account, and ask if you can get your bank statements online, or get a P.O. Box at the post office. Go for a savings account...

piggy bank at parent's house or anyone you really trust
or go to a bank. never too late to start a bank account. ask them if they investigate stuff. i'm pretty sure the limit for most banks is wayy more than $300. i don't remember getting statements in teh mail.
or you could find a place to live before you leave him without telling him, then use that place as the address for your bank account |

You can open a bank account and have the statements sent to a PO box. Most banks will also do E-statements so you don't get a paper statement anymore.
Go open a PO box at the local post office.
You have to pay a small fee, but then you can have other mail that you want to be delivered to a secure place sent to. |

If you feel that he will come across the money, get a safety deposit box at your local bank and put the money there. Ordinarily I would suggest opening a bank account and "go paperless" with online statements but if that is also a problem then go with the safety deposit box. |
