Stop looking for a job, and look for a career. Find out what you are passionate about and focus that energy into the universe. You don't need any money to get started. Use the Internet to do basic research to get leads on what it is you are passionate about. From that point set up informational interviews with people who are doing what you desire to do. You will probably find that a majority of those who you interview will have a variety of different background and degrees, or none at all. You will also find that they they all achieved success in different measures. If you are serious about living your best life, you will put your foot forward and follow my advice. This will cost you only time, but you will walk away with the knowledge and inspiration, to keep pushing forward and open doors that you thought were never there. Good Luck! |

I have two sons.
One is 22 and has had over 15 jobs. Each time he quit or got fired it was someone else's fault. He's a high school dropout and can't understand why he can't get paid what he feels he should get. He lived with me until I threw him out - twice.
My other son is 26. After almost three years in college he realized that he didn't know what he wanted. He started working in a place where my daughter worked. He had the lowest, hardest, filithiest job and made it a point to do the best he could. In 18 months he was the lead operator on a one hundred foot long 6 million dollar machine making about $17/hr. He wanted his own place so he moved out. He eventually left that job and is now making $42K in a job that has huge career potential. He's back in college going to U Phoenix.
My youngest son also had a job at the same place, one quite a bit better than my older son's. The boss was stupid so he left.
See if there is a moral in there somewhere. |

im there with you. with my family to support.
go to the school first. education is the biggest key to success. explain your situation - get a scholarship or a payment plan. schools will usually have a way if you are willing to look. and ask.
as much as i hate saying this - go to social services and get the needed help your tax $$ pays for so you arent stressing in the mean time. go to job service. pain in the *** but you need ot work. very important. go to a temp agentcy. be prepared to start working! if there is amll near you - chances are a store has an opening. may be a crap job but may parlay into mngt or something esle. maybe not what you wanted but will pay the bills help with school self esteem confidecne and before you know it - hey man you are living a pretty good life after all! along the way - keep reading studying researching and trying to make contacts with companies or people in an area you want to be successful in. contact them - make a bold move - have clearly defined goals and ask them how to get where they are. tell an abbreviated unemotional and professional version of where you are and waht you want. most successful people love to talk about the journey of their succeeses. so be bold and listen. |

I grew up poor in a big city and had the same problem. My way out was to joined the Air Force and use that time to learn as much as possible, take part-time college classes, and save money to go to college full time when I got out (that, plus the education benefits they give you). I now have a Master's degree and make a pretty good living as an environmental scientist.
There are other options, like getting combinations of grant/loans; but that is what worked good for me. Plus I got to see a lot of the world while I was in the AF.
Feel free to shoot me an email if you would like any other information about ways to get through college. |

Suck it up buttercup. You are spending too much time complaining and hoping it will just fall into your lap. Time to get out there and work for it. Remember everyone started at the bottom. Get to work. Lots of jobs out there. |
