ok i need to raise $3,000 to go to new york for this summer! and i've already got a little over $250 and my mom told me that i have to go to businesses and ask them but im not very good at asking people to give me money. so i need help on how to tell people that i need money and if you have any easy fundraisers please can u tell me them cuz i need that money in by march and i live in a REALLY small town so there's not a lot of businesses around and because of the economy it will be hard to give me the money that i need so can you please answer this! i need to know as soon as possible cuz i have to start asking businesses on Wednesday!

Have yard sales and car washes. Babysit. Also, if this is a school trip you might ask the principle or teacher if the class can hold some fundraisers to allow those that cannot afford the trip to go. You might also make up some clear plastic jars with a picture of yourself and your cause posted on it and ask fast food places and little stores around town if you can leave your donation containers on their counters. People often will drop a dollar or two in and even if they throw in a few coins, change really adds up quickly. You can also make up fliers and post them around town offering to walk peoples dogs for maybe $10.00 an hour...or bathe them. If you choose to do all of these things then you will earn that money in no time at all! Enjoy New York! |

Look for work opportunities wherever you can: Babysit, take jobs wherever you can get hired, host bake sales at your school. Be creative!! |

I can't really add any jobs but Word travel Fast in a small town and if you work hard your goal will be recognized. I am glad that for the most part the community gave you good answers and not the typical internet scams |

I'm not sure why businesses would give you money. Maybe a job, but money? Not many I know (and I own 2). Some might be willing to take you on PT for round the office work etc.
Advertise as a handy service: car washing, ironing, babysitting, snow shovelling, weeding gardens. |

Why would you ask businesses for money in the first place? Commonly, for a fundraiser or an event which involves your school, right?
Can you find a job? The only way to make money, really, is to find a job. Unless you write music, or can paint a nice picture, or, have something, or some talent to sell.
Also, google "fundraiser ideas", and check out some of the sites listed therein.

i once raised money by investing in shares. but you must find a ''more'' guaranteed sort of company to invest in.
are you old enough to do that.
but are you sure that is a good value For a week worth of learning. cant you be an intern at newspaper at home or a magazine? just make sure you get to train where the actually work is happening so you could observe closely. this way you will learn and to see if this is what you want to do for sure.
almost all journalist done the same. but don't be disappointed if you don't get to go it may not be as good as you think. on week does not seem right.
there are so many online resources to get basic info and help you. |

Fund raising? You want people to GIVE you money so you can go on a vacation to NY? Nobody's going to give money so you can go on VACATION. You'll need to WORK. Babysit, rake leaves, shovel snow, do errands for people, walk dogs. |
