You don't indicate what kind of bills you have but contact ALL of your creditors and explain your circumstances. See about paying interest only if they will not defer full payment. Don't forget any entitly that you owe including the utility companies, insurance companies, credit cards, banks, car loans....if you can pare interest or make partial payments on some or all, you might be able to swing it. |

Right now start cutting down on things...like taking your cell phone charger out of the wall when you are not using it...it uses electricity. Try and borrow money from friends. Why are you out for 2 months...if you got hurt or had surgery or something, you can try to collect disability to supplement your 2000. Work at McDonalds or a Wawa or gas station then quit when you can go back to work. Decide which are bills that you want to default on...after all it will only be a month, but that could hurt your credit. If one bill is student loans, you can call them and explain your situation and they will try and help. Usually the same with a credit card. Also, you could go without cable TV and maybe a cell phone for a month. Call up those companies and see what they say. If you rent, talk to your landlord. Also, do odd jobs for people like the other yahoo answerer said. Good luck. |

Call everyone you owe money. Utilities, car, house, etc. Explain to them what is going on. If they give you attitude ask to speak to their supervior. Sometimes calling your creditors helps they can sometimes work out a payment option or not send you to collections right away! Just let them know you will more then likely beable to pay them back and be on scheduled payments soon. |

I know how you feel, I'm pregnant and have restrictions on what I can do. In other words, I can't have a job outside the home. I babysit for my niece for $25 a day (it brings around $100 a week or $400 a month). Otherwise what my sister is doing right now is odds and ends for an elderly couple in an upscale neighborhood. She makes about $150/week just for getting groceries and cooking a couple meals a week. She said it's so easy and fun too! |

Depending on what type of bills they are. Most car loans will let you take a two month pass per year. If that is one of you payments check into that.
Pay the first two months on electricity and cable and not the third month. It will not get cut off until you get some notices and another bill later. The bill on the 4th month will be double the usual bill but you would be working and could maybe manage it a little easier. |

Common sense says you either have to increase your income or decrease your spending. Are there any bills or services you can cancel for those two months (cell phone, cable, magazine subscription, dining out, etc)? Are there any bills which you can postpone (be sure to choose the one the lowest interest rate)?
Next, check your resources. Is there any way you can earn or borrow the $500 difference? Any jewelry or expensive possessions you can sell? Can a friend or family member gift or loan you the money? Are there any odd jobs or temporary jobs you can do during these two months?
