WITH YOUR PARENT's PERMISSION: go to craigslist and see if there are any SAFE listings under "gigs" or "childcare". Your mom/dad can guide you to choosing what is safe (as in, perhaps, taking care of the kid in your own place).
Make it a goal to collect 5 water jugs worth of coins (that garnered me $250 when I was 14) Whenever, wherever you see coins, pick em up. Ask your parents, grandparents for the change at the bottom of their purse or pockets. |

Look for needs in your community, you can babysit, mow lawns, have bake sales, rake leaves, shovel driveways. Funny thing about this is that you can use this though process to make money for you for the rest of your life AND you are providing a service that will better your community. |

How about investing in, if you invest a small amount every few months you will be laughing by the time you are twenty.
You can start your own business and do guerilla marketing, which is making handouts, and talking to people about what you do. You can clean houses and do lawncare, shovel driveways, clean up back yards, walk dogs, have a doggie daycare, deliver newspaper, groceries, or convenience treats, babysit, run errands, or have a garage sale.
This could finance many shopping sprees and give you each a income that will build a savings account. In addition, depending on where you live, there is a ton of small business start up grants for students, go to your guidance office and see if they can find something for you. and while you are there, promote you yard cleaning service!

Put a huge amount of it in a kiddie lunch box, bury it in my garden, mark the spot for me, and leave it there. I'll tell you it will grow into a "money tree" which any teen will believe. When you come back to retrieve the box, the money will be gone whereby you will have learned money doesn't grow on trees. You have to go out and earn it. |
