well what i am doing .. is bailing out.. luckily i got the capital in my home.. so i am selling up and moving abroad,, i am only 53,, but i am sick and tired of being taxed to the hilt,, working six days a week to pay off a big mortgage.. so i am moving to Bulgaria.. 6 months holiday , then i will come back to work in uk,, and the best of all.. i have no house they can pinch off me if ever i go in retirement home,, by the way ,i have paid my taxes since i was 15,, and bar from just a couple of years when i had my kids,, i have always worked. so if the asylum seekers can get it with out contribution,, well i have brought 3 kids into the world ,, who are all working and paying taxes,. so that's my way of stopping them ripping me off..invest in a better country. let the immigrants come here,, we will go there country, and make it great.. lol

Vote it out?!

Jen G
Vote the current elected officials out of office.

Stop thinking any government left of centre favours the ordinary person. They are the first to get their nose in the trough. And no, I don't support the opposition.

ken
you can't

Start by using your Vote in May's Council & Scottish Parliament Elections... Vote for some other party other than Labour...and the next time there is a UK General election ...remember how arrogant this Labour Government has been...have a wee picture of Tony Bliar , John (Two Shags) Dr John, Ebeeneeezer Brooon (who might be PM soon ) , Bonkety Blunkett.. and the rest of the crew - along with you when you mark your X ...

People will probably respond in the following ways:

1. Grin and bear it.
2. Ripping the government off by evading taxes or exploiting the welfare system (I PERSONALLY DO NOT ENCOURAGE THESE).
3. Emigration.
4. Voting in a far right political group.

Response 1 is the predominant response of the British public.

Response 2 is a vicious circle. The government loses money and they increase taxes, which then leads people to cheat, and compounding the situation even more. It also makes life difficult for genuine people in the welfare system. Its a sad state of affairs when people, who otherwise have moral objections, feel compelled into cheating.

Response 3 could become more popular if the government introduces satellite congestion charging. Satellite congestion charging would wreak havoc on the economy. Even those who don't drive will suffer as businesses will pass increased motoring costs onto the consumer, which could fuel inflation and drive up interest rates.

Response 4 comes about when the voter feels all the mainstream parties are neglecting them.

Either way, its a horrible situation.

Vote them out ,vote the Tories in and then you WILL be in trouble,or have you got a short memory?

Complain officially about everything you come across which is unjust or unfair.
Lobby your MP for changes.
Stand for local government and try to change the system from within.
Non-violent protest.
Educate yourself in politics speak so you can argue in their own language.
Encourage your family and friends, co workers etc to do the same.
Theres a start

Rise up and arm ourselves - forward the revolution eh comrades. Or we could all emigrate until they have no one left to tax.
