If you are already getting the magazine, chances are your check has been cashed already.
If you just gave it to them, or just sent it in, you can go down to your bank and put a hold or a stop payment on the check. It will cost you a fee, (usually $25 or so) but the check will not be paid. |

You have to call your bank to cancel the check, but be prepared, there is usually a fee for canceling a check. |

Depends on what the amount of the check is. If you have made it for under $25.00 I would forget it. Most banks will charge you $30 for a stop payment, so it will actually cost more then the amount of the check to stop it. If it's $100.00 then I would call the bank tomorrow morning and have them stop it., but you will pay a fee. |

If you have not received the magazines, you could talk to the Better Business Bureau. If you have received the mags and want to stop them, call the company that prints the mag and say that you don't like them as much as you thought and that you would like to stop the magazine and have a refund for the ones you haven't received. If they were the folks that come to your door and sell magazines and you never hear from them again, you better kiss that money goodbye, if the check has been cashed, because it is gone for good. I used to work for one of those companies, before I found out they were scamming folks. You have a three day cancellation option, but most of those door to door deals cut the cancellation form off the order form, so by the time you get the form, the three days are up. When I figured out what they were up to, I quit, and turned them in to the BBB. Best wishes. |

Call your bank right away , before the check is cashed . You should have an 800 number on your bank card or check book . Tell them to cancel your check , it cost a few dollars to do . But its worth it . |

Just put a stop payment on it. The bank usually asks for the check # and thats it, they handle the rest. They may charge you depending on what kind of account you have, But if you have never done this ask them if you can have a courtesy refund. Some banks are pretty good about waiving fees. |

Well. that depends on when you wrote the check. If it's more than a day, you aren't getting it back. Too late. Just take the magazine and chalk it up as a learning experience. Today money comes out almost instantly from your account, you have no recourse unless you are spending more than 300. in most states. If you have a contract that has a sales agreement it will have an opt out page to it and it has to be mailed within a certain amount of time for it to be valid. Good luck. |

it sucks when you have to deal with those things.
i would contact the bank and let them know about the situation and go from what they say.
if it doesn't work out alright ( i doubt it)...contact the magazine and ask for confirmation like e-mail or something you had agreed on...
think of what you would do as other people would on this situation...i hope this helps...goodluck! |
