You cannot apply for your own credit card until you are 18 years old.
However, you can be added as an "authorized user" on your parents account. An "authorized user" does not share the credit rating of the owner or joint owners.
If your parents allow it, you will have to pay them for what you charge, and they will pay the credit card company.
You cannot open a "joint account" until you are 18. You can have no more than two people on a "joint account".
But, if you open a joint credit card account with another adult when you are 18, you will share the credit rating. |

Don't get one. It will only lead to thousands of dollars in debt. Debit cards can do anything that Credit cards can except get you in debt. |

You can get a prepaid credit card. They are not the same as regular credit cards. They are like bank debit cards, you need to load money into them before you can use it. |

You can apply anywhere for a credit card. The Uniform Commercial Code prevents a creditor from recouping any losses from a minor. No business in their right mind will give you a line of credit if you can just walk away from it in two years. Once you turn 18, you will be treated as an adult and you will also be held responsible for your own debts. |

You must have a joint account with an adult. You shouldn't have one anyway, you're young and chances are you'll blow most of your money anyway. Wait until you're responsible and mature. |

Under the law, you will not be able to get on under your name as you have to 18. However, your parents can add you to their account in order for you to get a card. If you do, use it wisely. Hope this helps. |
