Banks have similar criteria for eligibility of credit card applications, e.g. minimum income. If your applications have not been approved by a few banks, the most likely reason is that you are not eligible for one yet. Ask them for the reason(s) so that you can plan on when to apply for it in future.

open a checking account and apply for a card from that bank

JOHN
apply with visa or mastercard, but first have a bank accout.
also check you credit report. there might be a blemish on there

Look for a company with a low line of credit that's like $300. The interest rate might be high, but if you pay it off on time every month, you don't have to worry about it. I would look on the internet like on websites for credit card companies such as Chase, Mastercard, Visa, Discover, etc.

CapitalOne.

Do you already have a used car? (Paid in full)

If you don't then you need to buy one (It does not matter if your car is worth only $1,000.00 USD)

You need something they can take if you don't pay them.

Chase and Capital One are good.

first go to the local credit bureau they can tell you where and probably why you have had problems and what you can do to improve the situation.
don't get that first credit card it will cause more problems than it it cures unless you can pay it off each and every .month.

if you have a job, you pretty much can get one. you need a bank account. try well-known credit sites and fill out the application online, but you need a yearly income to list for most, or at 24 if you are still a student (i dont know) look for credit cards directed towards students (like Chase credit card does that). My first was american express, try that, or go to stores like best buy, macys, where ever and get a store card and build from that. once you get one seems they all try to get you, but resist you only need one or two, now i have six and never use any.

Count yourself lucky you don't have one! They are nothing but trouble when you are young! Take it from me and anyone else out there that didn't have a "good job" before they got one.

Shamu

StanTheMan
Count your blessing and stop trying. Get yourself a Visa Debit Card instead.
