How do I protect a stack of cash from moisture or mold?
I had it stored in a paper envelope and it got kind of damp and slimey. Should I keep some kind of dessicant with it. DON'T TELL ME TO PUT IT IN THE BANK, it is just a reserve to keep in my house and don't ask me where it is.

Let it soak first in a non-bleach disinfectant like Lysol then wash it with soap and water. Lay each bill out flat on a towel or put it in a zippered pillow case and throw it in the dryer for 10 minutes at a time until dry. NO YOU WONT BE CHARGED WITH MONEY LAUNDERING. ::) :) :) :)

hope this helps have a great day.

Try a ziplock baggy and push all the air out before sealing it

You need a good air conditioner and you need to switch it on for 24 hours continuously.

try getting those new space bags or vaccum type bags that get the air out and nothing to get in... keep it in a cool dry space...

Hope it helps ya

that is fine with me but my mom does the same thing and she puts it in a sip lock bag with the air oout tight and puts it in the freezer for a rainy day she tells me and it keeps it dry and nice and crisp as when she put it first in there .ok

While a zip lock bag would work, an even better option is one of the food-saver bags. (The ones that suck out all the air, then seal.) I keep several important documents, including savings bonds and birth certificates, safe and sound this way. Hope this helps you.
