2. divorce him and get the law to split his fortune in 1/2 with you.
3. Find out his SSN# and secretly find out all about his finance.
But considering the trust you have with him.. it sounds like your marriage is in for some interesting time.

I wouldn't go there. Honestly.
Because, you should really be saving money yourself in a seperate account without his knowledge, too, so you don't want the double standard of asking him, and then being put on the spot if he asks you.
A wife should always save some money, no matter how small, for her own independence should she divorce or be widowed.
Example: for years, I have gone to the store with $20.00, spent $12 on groceries, and saved the other $8.00, but to my husband...I spent $20...he never asks...so I don't tell.
Needless to say, after almost 13 years of marriage, if he leaves me through divorce or through death, I'll be able to manage without his income for awhile until I find a job or if he died, his life insurance pays his bills...etc.
It's something any woman should do...whether your marriage is great or not. |

Just ask him. You just got married and there shouldn't be any secrets. If you ask him and he says no it should be the truth but if you found out that he has, you then know how trustful he is. If you found out he lied to you about the money, then what else is he lying about. I feel so sorry for you as the two of you should be telling each other everything especially if you both just got married. If you feel like this now, what are you going to feel in 5 years time. You should be able to trust him fully and if you can't, go. (I don't mean to sound horrible) |

The easiest way is to ask him. Banks have tightened their rules about privacy of accounts, and unless he gives his assent, it will be difficult and you may be skirting the law in trying to find out.
Anyway, each bank sends a 1099 tax form out in January telling how much interest was earned from accounts in the previous year. If you want to rifle through the mail, that's a faster and simpler way to do it; and will skill, your husband will never know the difference. |

How about this, you try to keep out of his business... if he has money he doesn't want you to know about then that is his prerogative, and you should respect that. If you two have gotten a divorce then you should have enough dignity to let your husband have what money is rightfully his.
