To answer your question; you go to the county court. It will cost you to declare bankruptcy
Once it is done you can sleep easy. If you are in serious debt it may be better to let someone else declare you bankrupt.
It will not cost you then. |

Oh you want to get away without having to pay, very responsible. Read up on it first and make sure you don't intend having a loan or mortgage anytime soon. |

have a talk to cab they may phone the court for you and make you an appointment with the court, the paper work is a nightmare, you have to pay about £325 to go bankrupt, it was the best thing i ever did but that's my opinion |

The county courts used to deal with bankruptcy...think about it before you go ahead and do it...they will want all of your assets and half of any joint assets |

You file, see a lawyer and go before a judge. I wouldn't do it yourself, too much paperwork to fill out. You find a lawyer and pay him /her first then you go to court, even then its not definite. They look over your file and make the decision. |

This is typical of the attitudes of today. Run up debts and then wriggle out of it. It makes me sick when I think of how people had to work in the past to make ends meet and would never even think of doing such a thing. |

County court has the papers, they cost around 400pounds to register (well, they did three years ago). But take it from someone who has been there, done it... try everything you can before taking this route. It's not just about getting rid of your debts, it's about losing everything you own - and DON'T transfer everything to someone else as suggested, that's fraud and you could (seriously) end up in prison. Then it takes years and years and years to get a credit rating.
Try the Citizens Advice, they're experts. There are things which could help like entering into voluntary repayments which they can help you with.

you have to declare yourself bankrupt officially first by going to somewere like c.a.b and they will asses your debt, if they think there is know option but to go bankrupt then they will apply to the court, then they will decide if your fate. |

transfer all your assets everything on someone else but you have to trust them 100% otherwise you will really be bankrupt. Go to the solicitor especially if you owe money and tell them, they will then guide you as to what to do. good luck |
