Just write the cheque normally in £sterling but for the right amount in euros.
So £10 = 14.64 Euros
146.40 euros = £100
The bank will do the conversion when it is presented by your creditor |

A cheque in euros can only be drawn on an account denominated in euros. If this is a one-off requirement, say to send a deposit, you'll need to get a bank to do this, but there are fees - if this is for a small amount it will be relatively expensive, so you might be better negotiating to see if there's another way of doing it. |

You'd really need to go to the bank and have a counter cheque or bankers draft drawn up. At some banks you need to order it so ring them first. And nearly all banks will charge you for it.

u can actually write on a sterling cheque in euros. just ensure that u put ur initials on it as well as ur signiture. i work for barclays and we no longer do bankers drafts(or international drafts). the quickest was for euros to be recived is by an international transfer, which will take approx 5 days to be recieved.u will be charged £20 for this tho. if u write a sterling cheque as euro then this could take 3 weeks to clear in the account being paid into. |

You would need to have a euro cheque book, and thenexactly the same as you would write a sterling one. |

Same as usual but think you'd have to check with bank if you can write on sterling account. may be easier to get Euro bank draft. why not send sterling cheque they could change at other end, or keep for when they travel over to UK or up to Newry as i do for my shopping. gone off the point there. sorry thanks.... |

If its a one of requirements, you can ask the bank to do:
1) A Foreign Draft; A cheque the bank issues on your behalf in another currency
2) An International Transfer; The money will go straight into the other bank. You bank will give you a form to complete.
If it's a regular requirement, you want a Euro Account i.e a bank account in Euros. HSBC do a good one, but Lloyds TSB do one as well. Its just like your ordinary account, but it is in Euros.
Oh, and don't try using you own cheque book with the euro symbol. |
