this has happened to me twice, i,ve rang up and explained once, and they took the charges of straight away, because it wasnt my fault, it was sky tv, they took a diredt debit out without notifying me and i was overdrawn, the other time i was poorly in hospital with a baby and my husband forgot to put money on the day i said in my account for a couple of direct debits, i wrote a letter and explained why, and that my husband was stressed has he had to look after the other children, they removed the charges and wished me well, anyway write or phone explaining why, tell them you cant afford it and it will make it much harder for you, hope you get it sorted! |

Usually, you can contact either your bank or credit card company, and they'll tell you what to put in the letter and such. Or, some cards or banks have web-sites where you can submit requests to dispute charges as well. If you're lucky, they might take it right on the phone, no writing involved. |

do it over the phon, just so long as you get the name of the person you are speaking to, the date and time and the gist of the conversation.
If you are goind to write a letter keep a copy for yourself and as long as you have proof of any disputes you have, for example if you spoke to someone a few days ago over the phone to query if you would be charged, if they said no, then you were, as long as you get the name of the person and time and date, they will backtrack because all their calls are recorded.
