COOKIE | How do you afford it? |
So soon after Christmas people are already thinking about their holidays abroad. I wasn't able to buy any christmas presents and haven't been abroad for 6 years. Although I work full time, once I've paid bills and bought food there is nothing left to save. How do you do it. |

Get a job that pays more or get a 2nd job. Many of those people are in debt. You may be smarter than they are. |

I'm in the same situation you are. I've never been abroad. (Ended up in Canada once, but that's because I got lost.) I don't even do the Christmas thing anymore due to the expense. I work full time as well. But everything I have is paid for (except my small house). Maybe many of those other folks use credit and worry about the expense later. |

a lot of those people you are talking about are retired, haven't you noticed? They usually have all their kids moved out, get social security plus their 401 k, sell their house and make a huge profit then travel ALL the time.
Most young people I would say put everything on credit cards |

These are the sort of people who live on credit, and when the world collapses around them, they go bankrupt and nobody gets what they're entitled to. It's a good trick if you can get away with it ! ! ! |

I don't believe anyone who is working full time cannot save anything at all. It does not matter how small the amount the important thing is to do it regularly. The other thing is not to leave it to see what you can afford at the end of the week / month. The answer will always be nothing if you do that. If you can be strong and not withdraw it from your savings account then it will soon mount up. Will you be able to go on some great holiday next year? Almost certainly not. However once savings start to accumulate you can aspire to do things. |

first, put aside some money into your saving account and try not to touch the money. Even if it's just a very small amount, like $15/25 per pay check, after while, it will make differences. 2nd, is to have your personal budget, then spend some time to record your expenses daily and compare it with your budget. |

We couldn't when we were younger and first starting our family,we both had two jobs, which was hard but necessary to provide a decent living and we learned to save a little every week, no matter how small. We took our parent's advice and made our savings work for us and we gave our children a good education so they didn't have the hardship that we had in the early days.
We are in our 60's now and still work 7 days a week, which we now do by choice and not necessity, we have great holidays and we'll have a comfortable retirement. We've struggled and worked hard for what we have and now we are reaping the rewards, nothing comes easy for most of us in life you have to go out and make it happen |
