2 days- don't ask (unless it's a lot of money)
3 days- ask politely(slip it into the conversation)
4 days- ask a little more forcefully
7+ days- "Come on dude you borrowed money from me and I need it back."

Seriously, just ask if they ever payed off that bill they borrowed the money for. Or ask if they are enjoying that new car they needed. They will so remember that you were responsible for allowing them to purchase it and guilt will take over. I so hope you get reimbursed. Good luck! |

You shouldnt have to. But if you do, you shouldnt be embarrassed or worry about how to ask. They should be the one to feel uncomfortable because they havent paid you back. |

Go to them face to face and ask when they can pay you the money they borrowed. Don't make excuses for why you need it as they owe it to you. Then in the future ask them when they can pay you back before you loan it. If you have to track them down to get paid back, don't loan any more money to them. |

Be direct. Tell them that you need the money and ask them when you can expect to get it back.
In future, when lending money agree on a date by which they should repay it. If you do that, the day after that date you are within your full rights to ask where your money is. |
