I was in this situation before it was tough but I have support from my family that's why it's better for us to love our family to the max because they are the one that will catch you when you fall I also had some 401 k saved during the time I was employed it was gone after 5 months and after that I was on Edd for another 6 months. the last month I borrowed from my aunt. No body knows the future any good job can disappear in a blink so it's better to have some money save for the rainy days. |

You have to have some kind of "income" it just may not be money.
Requirements:
A place to live that doesn't require utilities.
A source of clean, or cleanable, water.
A way to get food. Maybe you grow it. Maybe you beg for it.
A way to stay warm in the winter, if it gets cold.
That's it... basic animal requirements for food and shelter. I wouldn't want to live at this level for long, but it can be done. |

It depends on how much in terms of savings and investments you have to fall back on, and what you are willing to do without.
As for "just getting a job," it may not be enough if the job you get doesn't pay the bills. You still end up choosing between food and rent. |

If you have any savings, use them.
If you have family you can stay with, do it.
If you have friends who can help with food and shelter, let them help.
The major religions all have social service agencies who can help.
So does your town/township, state and county.
I'm assuming you are not able to work due to some sort of disability. If you're physically able to work, you should be able to cobble together enough part time jobs to get by until you get a "real" job. |
