Don’t use credit card because u have to pay it high interest . . . But if you don’t have any payment problem then u can utilize it. |

There is nothing wrong with getting a credit card and using it on occasion. This will help establish your credit for the future. The key to having a credit card is, don't use it. The buy now, pay later approach is what gets people into too much financial trouble because the debt they rack up is unseen and only grows larger if it is not paid off in full. You are wise to be considering these things because so many people don't! |

Just never charge more than you can pay off when the bill comes. |

Don't be afraid to get a credit card! People get into debt because of poor money management skills- it's common. There's a rule of thumb for credit cards; don't buy anything that won't be there when you get the bill (ie, gas, food...). Credit cards accrue interest, so keep that in mind when purchasing anything- if you can't pay off the balance when you get the bill, you'll be paying interest. So that $100 sweater might end up costing you $150 or more, for example. Make sure you know your terms- monthly bill cycle (due date), interest rate, annual fees, ways to make a payment, and a way to contact your creditor. Education is the best way to stay out of debt. |

It is good to have a credit card, that way you start building your credit score, however, make sure that you will have the money to pay in full when the bill comes, otherwise you will be paying a high price for your purchase, One more thing make sure you pay on time, if not it can cost you up to $30 on late fees. Another tip, if you bill is due on June 20, some banks have a time deadline, so if your deadline is 2:00 EST. and you pay your bill on June 20 at 4:00 EST. it is already late. Also if your balance is $300. and you pay $250.00 the interest charged is for the full $300. not just for the balance. I hope this help. |

I use my credit card as debit. I keep a logbook of exactly how much I spend and how much is still in my account. If that number starts getting low, I stop buying things. The only reason to get a credit card is if you want something but have not been paid yet. (I'll have the money on Friday) This is how they lure you in. Because you keep buying stuff with next Friday's money, and sometimes you overestimate how many hours you'll get next week, etc, and buy more than Friday brings you. And then you're snared.
It is ALWAYS better to just wait until Friday and buy it then. |

Stay within your means ... buy things when you have the cash to buy them ... That way you can put it on your credit card ,pay it off when you receive the bill , and establish your credit .... for when you may need it .
Some wiil tell you not to get a credit card ... but if you ever need to rent a room , rent a car , buy a house , even rent an apartment, you must establish credit. |

I agree with the first answer, DONT get a credit card. If you dont have one then you cant overspend on it. Open a savings account to save for expensive things that you really want, always make sure you have enough to pay your bills before buying luxury items and generally dont get things on credit. Make an appointment with your bank manager who can advise you if you want to invest any savings, and they can also advise you on which bank accounts will make the most of your money. |

you DONT get a credit card - if you can't pay cash, you can't afford it! |

Financially speaking, there are two kinds of people: those who pay interest, and those who are paid interest. If you get a credit card, you are joining the first group. Instead, you should get a checking account, Paypal account, or similar that issues a Visa or Mastercard debit card. This gives you the advantages of a credit card, without having to pay interest.
Paypal even offers a money market account with an associated Mastercard debit card, and some other money market accounts also have an associated debit card. This pays you interest, and does so at a greater rate than a savings account. This gets you started in the second group: the wise and the wealthy; those who are paid interest.
Never buy anything on credit, other than land.
This is how most truly wealthy people got that way. Credit=slavery. That's why the credit establishments spend so much on advertising to make you think credit equals freedom. |
