How do you open a UK bank account, if you don't have a passport, driving license, etc?

Birth certificate, utility bills, pay slips.

Each bank is different

You could ask the bank if they will accept utility bills, National Health Card card!

Do you have anything else that confirms your name and address and that they are bona fide. This is what the bank wants. You don't say how old you are, but do you have any utility bills in your name?. Do you have any medical records like an NHS card?. Any school or college records, membership of a library or a club or anything that corroborates who you are and where you live. Are you 18 and on the electoral roll The banks must have run into this problem many times before and should be able to explain to you what they would consider to be acceptable ID in order to open an account for you. Perhaps it may mean trying a different bank perhaps one of the smaller ones.Wish you luck.

Alex
Ask your chosen bank what other identification is acceptable. Sometimes they accept: utility bills (electricity, gas, water, etc), some types of letters from the Inland Revenue tax people (a notice of coding, etc), building society or credit union (or other bank) statement/passbook, council tax. Maybe something from your employer. There are probably others. They need your name and current address on them and they should be recent or current documents. Do ask them. Good luck; I know it is a frustrating process.

Have someone else open the account then you can be appointed the trustee of the account and no ID is needed.

dnbgrrly
You can't really, I have the same problem. I have no passport or photographic ID and all I was allowed is a basic account, meaning you can have a cashpoint card but no debit card etc.

Oh my god i am having the same problem! I think you might be able to use your P60 you get in April, other wise if you are over 18 yrs old, its basically impossible. You need one or the other. But i am going to try Abbey National once i get my P60.

If you are on benefits, such as tax credits, you can take those forms down.

ADDITIONAL

And no you cant just have utility bills, cos i have tried that one. You need them AS WELL! Its a royal pain the ***!

Ollie
You just go to the bank give your name, address etc plonk money in.Hey preto one bank account also they usually like your wages to be going in thats your proof.
