I always know how much the bills will be so some of them are debited from my account directly and the rest I usually pay before I actually get the bill.
The credit card is paid the day I use it. I don't carry a balance, it's just used to gather points for free groceries, but only on things I have the money for in my bank account at that moment. |

Same with electricity, Natural gas, Cablevision
It's nice not getting bills, and since I have the money, this is what I like to do
Since very little interest is paid by the bank, but their fees for cheques and cost of stamps

Here's a great idea for credit cards. Pay them off 2x per month. Why? You get paid twice per month so you should be able to and the benefits are:
1. Your credit score should improve. Why? Your credit card balances will be lower and that helps your score
2. Should you be late , the finance charges will be less, because you are paying 2x often. finance charges are based on balances and if they are 1/2 as much, you will pay less.
Your time of the month to pay does depend on when they are due, if you like first of the month, you can call all the card companies and move your statement date to the 5th and then you can continue your 1st of month approach. |
