Lovely M | How do you save money to relocate to another state, if you are living paycheck to paycheck? |
I am hoping to relocate to another state after finding a new job that pays the same or more than I make now. I am living paycheck to paycheck due to extensive debt and expenses due to the cost of living increasing. Moving far off costs money. How can I save when there is barely anything to save? Any ideas? |

Even those living from paycheck to paycheck can find a way to cut their monthly expenses. From cancelling the newspaper or cable TV to cutting out your morning Starbucks coffee or vending machine snacks.
It may not seem like much but it all adds up. |

Cut your expenses to only your debt expense and get a second job to save. Im in a similar situation.. im in debt and im planning to move to the other end of the United States for law school in about a year and a half. I cant move without money, cant go to law school with all this debt over my head and my problem is im living paycheck to paycheck. I reduced the amount of money i spend on unnecessary things and budgeted around only my bills. I also just got a second job. First i plan to let that job help me get out of debt then start saving that money when im no longer putting it towards my debt. It will be hard but you haveto do what you haveto do.
Good luck! |

You really need to pay off your debts first, then exercise some discipline to use what you used to pay off your debts to put aside in savings.
You can try downsizing a bit. Get rid of magazine subscriptions (if you have any), if you have a land line phone as well as a cell phone, you really only need one. Maybe sell things on craigslist in lieu of a "garage sale". Down size from cable to basic cable (I pay 15.00 a month for basic cable), lots of good ideas to provide a little extra each month. Maybe even reduce going out to dinner to less often, or go out to movies less, etc... All these ideas are good.
A second or even third parttime job is a good idea. Summer is coming and often the extra daylight hours and extra energy people have during summer can be a good time to work extra hard to make more money. Just remember not to spend that money, use it to pay off debt! |

Good QUESTION!! Take it from me, this is something you have to just DO. Get a weekend job, even if it's cutting lawns of walking dogs or waiting tables. Every penny fromt that job you stash even if one day you absolutely need the money. Reduce your bills as much as possible: like get an unlimited or prepaid cell phone, cut off cable, take public transportation and so on. |

the noly thing I could think of is get a apart time second job and save all of that money. |

This is what I did before I moved across country...get a second job, do odd jobs for friends/family, sell lots of the stuff I won't need or I can do without and get again later(clothes, electronics, books, etc). That helped a bit.
I wish you lots of luck! |

Try and see what you can live without. I'm sure there's a few things that you can cut back on. Cutting back entertainment and eating out are huge ways to save $$. Good luck. |

1. Cut lifestyle. No more restaurants.
2. Sell stuff.
3. Second or third job.
Do these three things to pay off your debt first. Then start saving to move. |

a second job would be the answer. you can save your earnings from that and eventually you will save enough to be afford a relocation. |

There are good advice from others .......
Over 80% of people are ALL living paycheck to paycheck .
I only know a few people who's not , because they're well off , I couldnt say rich , but comfortable . They didnt have a rich
parent made them that way , they just saved there money for all these years .........
As far as everyone else I know , they all work hard , All , including myself , cut back on our money and save what we can .
Everyone better get used to the word
"Paycheck To Paycheck . This will be with your for along time to come .
Know 6 months ago I moved , but I been saving the money a year before that , and I didn't move but 10 miles away , you're moving farther .........Save money if possible ..........
We've to have a different mindset when it comes to buying things , and conservating . |
