Timeflo | How does on stop living paycheck to paycheck? |
My wife and I make decent money, yet we can't get out of the cycle of living paycheck to paycheck. I see friends and family, who make less money than we do, with the ability to do just about anything they want (vacation, new TV, etc...) and pay cash for it, yet we are in a cycle of living paycheck to paycheck.
How does one go about breaking that cycle, and start putting money away so that we can enjoy some of the funner things for our family and not worrying about if we will be able to have enough money for food this week? |

I know several people who were in the same predicament as yourselves, and they solved the problem by starting a business and running it from home alongside their normal employment.
What they do is very simple and produces a substantial secondary income, so if you are possibly interested get back to me by email and I will send on some web site addresses for you to look at. |

Your friends pay cash and you may be putting too much spending on credit cards. Credit cards will eat you up financially. Pay off all credit cards and loans and then pay cash for most purchases or take small loans or put purchases on at a time on a credit card snd pay it off in a few months. Stop eating out it is very expensive. |

get your bills paid off, stop using credit cards and one day you will have the money to go on vacation and buy a new tv! |

you have to budget and stay on the budget. Cut out the extra things you can do without like cell phones, cable tv, high speed internet. Use that money to pay toward any credit card bills and stop using the credit cards! If you want a new tv then put money asside every week til you have enough to pay cash! make a grocery list of what you will need for the week and then don't buy extra stuff. It's all a matter of disipline really. You have to add savings to your budget and then leave it alone!! You can break it all down to what you need each week and put it in an envelope, if your rent is $500 a month then you would need to put $125 each week in an envelope for your rent. You can make an envelope for anything else you want and just add to it each week til you have enough to get it! Look up budgets online and fill one out and stick to it! Good Luck!! |

cut down your budget. The entertainment budget is the first to go, then figure out what you can and can't live without. Start putting money away little by little, tell yourself you're going to save $100 (or whatever) out of your paycheck, and put it in your savings account.
and you could also sell old junk that you don't need or want anymore. |

Find a way to live within your means. Meaning, cut back on your self serving habits enough to see a difference in your weekly savings. Examples...Refinance credit cards and bills with high interest. Pay a little extra on your utilities each month. Use your Tax refund to pay ahead on a bill and before you know it, you will have a leg up on it and the savings will grow. Learn to be creative with meals, cut back on eating out all the time. Look for sales on domestic items like shampoo, food, clothing, that kind of thing. If you can't afford to drive that truck or car you think you have to have, sell it and buy an older or more economic vehicle. Just take a look at what you have and what you do and you'll find the answer. it isn't rocket science. |

Have you taken a good look at what you're spending and where? That would be where I'd start, then see if you can reduce any debt you have. You have to start living below your means for a while until you get things straightened out, then you can move forward with savings. I'm assuming that you have a fair amount of debt. You really have to change your spending habits. Good luck. It's not easy. |

start putting a little bit of your money into the bank every paycheck
it will probably start off not being very much money
but the less money you spend each paycheck, the more you will have saved and the easier it will be not to go from paycheck to paycheck
and once you have some money saved up, then you will be safe if one of the bills go up or something |

I second the Dave Ramsey advice.
Go to http://www.daveramsey.com and listen to his radio show. He has lots of great advice on money and debt. It doesn't cost you a dime to listen to the radio. |

That is exactly like us!!!
Man I struggled for a LONG time.
I'm serious when I say this too, this site http://www.daddymorebucks.com really helped us out. So far it helped us save like $500 a month.
It's run by this guy with like 5 kids. He comes up with all kinds of creative ways to save money. Yeah, paycheck to paycheck.... I knew that feeling all too well.
Since we found that site we are like 2 paychecks ahead if you know what I mean. |
