After the rent/mortgage has been paid, the bills have been sorted and any debts have gone out of the bank, how much money do you have to live on per week? Do you have to spread this money over a family or is it just for you? Are you comfortable? Or if not - how much would you need to be able to say you are comfortable (without being greedy)!
I'm not interested in how much you earn - just what is left to feed the family/ entertainment /going out/ beer/ cigarettes etc. |

The real answer to this question is going to be VERY subjective, meaning that its going to be different for every person. Because no two people have the exact same life situation or costs.
**No! two people have the same life styles.
**My own situation is un-usual as I have no debits, no morgage and extremely low overheads and I dont indulge in many luxergies but nor am I poor either, I dont smoke or drink and my biggest luxergies are a car, the internet and TV. So I can live on virtually nothing about £30-40 a week which for some people would be pin money or beer money or would be blown in a few minutes at a night club. See what I mean its all relative.

My wage isn't too bad, but after all my bills come out I'm only left with about £300 per month which is crippling! Luckily it is just me, but i do have to fund trips to and from Southend to see my boyfriend most weekends. Its only the 16th, I got paid on the 31st of last month and I'm already broke! I have about £40 for the rest of the month. Its my fault probably, because I'm useless at budgeting and I love buying things for people and myself that they or I don't really need, so I'm a bit compulsive. I'd say after all the bills come out, I'd like to have about £600 for the month. But knowing me, the more I earn, the more I would spend. |

after paying some bills, gas, electric, food, petrol, water, i have about £20-£30 a week to spare which is terrible as that usually goes on my daughter for various things.

I recently got a pay rise and i dunno how much i have... all i know is that it isn't as much as some of the people here!! I spend £30 a week... £20 on petrol and £10 on dinners at work. I have a lot of excess but I prefer to save! |

Not enough, I work full time and support myself and daughter. After the rent food bills etc are paid I would have about £40-50 spare at the end of the week.

After my car payment, gym payment, cell phone payment, and credit card payments are sent out..I have roughly 900 (maybe a little more or little less depending on my paychecks) to live off of for the month. This money is maily just for me. I guess I have to say I am comfortable...but would rather have more! |

I have about £170 a week left after all living expenses, which includes grocery shopping, my partner probably has about the same.
It's never enough, it goes mainly on wine, going out and clothes, but I think we're fairly comfortable, we eat in good restaurants and buy expensive things, that's what working is all about. |
