NEVER lend money you can't afford to 'give' away! If you're foolish enough to lend it then charge the current percentage rate a bank would charge. I'd lend it for no longer then 12 months. Get everything in writing and have it notarized! Also include fees for any late payments to hopefully steer him/her away from the "something came up I'll have to pay you next week" excuses. If the co-worker can't get a traditional loan you really need to reconsider because there's obviously reasons he/she was denied. If this goes south you could be creating a horrible work environment not only for you but all those around you. |

My best advice would be don't do it. Anyone with decent credit should be able to get a bank loan in that amount . If they don't have decent credit you don't want to loan them the money anyway. Plus, if they don't pay you back on time you will have to continue to work with them, which could be awkward. |

THIS IS AN EASY ONE. NO TERMS DONT LOAN HIM THE MONEY. IF HE HAS TO ASK A COWORKER FOR A LOAN OF MORE THAN FIFTY BUCKS CHANCES ARE YOU WILL NEVER SEE THAT THREE GRAND AGAIN. |

Don't do it - you'll be sorry. |

Doesn't matter. I give you about a 1% chance of getting your money back to begin with. Forget about any interest. |

My advice? don't do it...if he/she were able to pay a loan back they'd be able to get one through a bank (I know- bad credit stops you from doing that...BUT)
ONLY lend money you can afford to not get back...this has bad news written all over it. |

Only loan money if you get a LEGALLY BINDING document in WRITING stating the terms you two agree to. Trust me, money can turn any relationship sour and it's best to cover your bases, you never know what could happen. |

I wouldn't do it! But for fun, I guess you could have he/she sign over the title to he/she vehicle. |

Depends on the purpose. If he can pay it back ASAP that would be best, and you might just charge him something like 8-10%. Personal loans are risky if you extend the term too much, as you have no collateral and are likely not going to be as harsh a creditor as a formal institution.
I would also warn against loaning money to someone who you have a personal relationship such as a coworker as it opens the door to a situation which may cause hard feelings between the two of you. However, it can also be hard not to help out when you see his need. For that reason i might be kinder and charge something more like 5% which you can get if you deposited that money in a CD for that time. |

Don't do it! You can give a gift, but not a loan. It WILL ruin your friendship and professional relationship. $3000 is just not worth it. Tell you co-worker to sell something or get a second job. |
