Once a person has enough money that he doesn't have to work for a living, he's rich.
Wearing designer labels or driving a ridiculously expensive car does not make someone rich. Smart people are those who could afford to do such things but realize that it is unimportant (and frankly shallow). |

Being rich is a matter of spending less than you earn, it's not a function of income or possessions.
I would say anyone 25 with all that who makes a little less 50k pounds per year and has that kind of net worth probably inherited it and won't have it very long.
Ponder the old saying "a fool and his money are soon parted." You can restate this as "a young fool with money is HOT!" |

RICH === Income exceeds expenditure.
How RICH you are depends on how much your Income exceeds your expenditure.
If your Income is 50k and your expenditure is 51k then, for sure, you are POOR, no matter what you wear, what car you drive or what house you live in.
NB. If you have any Credit Card Debt. then you are well on the way to being POOR .. (because Interest Rates go up faster than Income) |

One of my friends who is very wealthy said to me "David, do you know what I would do if I won the lottery? Naive ole me said: No, what would you do with it? He said, I would put it with the rest and just carry on as I am. That is when you are rich. I must add that this was said by him in a jokey manner as he made his wealth by hard work and skill. It depends on what your definition of "rich" is. In some cultures rich is defined by how many children you have. Others define it by how many wives you have. I've noticed you didn't mention anything about your personal relationships. Perhaps you don't have any because you're obsessed with materialistic pursuits. By the standards of the cultures I've mentioned above you wouldn't be considered rich but rather, quite poor. Sorry to break it to you. |
