I have a fine family, good friends, and enough cash to be comfortable in life.
I therefore consider myself to be "rich" |

Depends what would personally make you happy and the sort of lifestyle you would buy if you could. I want a large country estate, fine art, antiques, a library full of old leather-bound books, a studio and enough money in the bank to never have to work again. Flashy cars, swimming pools, helicopters, etc don't impress me one bit and even if I were a billionaire I would not buy these. So maybe my version of 'rich' would be cheaper than another person's.
I am starting to save my first million now. There are plenty of websites out there explaining how to live frugally and it is something that I am trying to do in order to save money. My blog is http://thriftymillionairess.blogspot.com/ if you want to share ideas and support. |

Those who earned less than $30,000 thought that a household income of $74,000 would qualify as rich.
Those who made $30,000 to $50,000 said an income of $100,000 would be rich.
And people in the top half of earners were more likely to say that an income of $200,000 earns you the right to the R word.
enough money so you wouldnt worry about bills

I guess rich would be considered to mean having more things & money than the average person.
If you don't have to work for a living you could give the appearance of being rich just by you living a comfortable lifestyle & having plenty of leisure time.
I'm not familiar with Australian currency or lifestyles though.
I'd say that people who have 2/3's of their day to themselves & have everything thet need and most of what they want - are rich. |

being "rich" is largely subjective;
to someone with an income that is barely enough to live on, someone with $40,000 in the bank might be considered rich.
conversely, someone on $200,000 a year would consider someone on $1,000,000 to be "rich".
On the absolute scale however, it's generally a given that anyone with six-figure income or more is "rich"

Also, I'd like to respond to this:
"i didnt know the aussies used dollars...good for you guys. america is the way."
They're Dollars only in name - they are printed and controlled by the Australian Bank and float against the US Dollar but they are NOT the same thing, just as Hong Kong Dollars, Singapore Dollars and New Zealand Dollars are their own currency. |
