To be honest. I'm an asset millionaire. I'm 27. I have a flat worth 750k, a car worth 50k and a few hundred grand in the bank ..... and I'm not rich!
I'm well off, I'm very comfortable. But to be rich, you have to have at least £4m I think
BMI makes a great point. I bet there are lots of kids my age making £80'000 a year, and to their friends who are on £25'000 a year they're rich..... to me £80'000 a year is not rich, but where I live £400'000 is not much either ... you need to be on at least £1.5m a year to have Ferrari's and travel first class I think |

being "rich" is such a relative term.
around a bunch of homeless people, a person with a hundred bux could be considered rich...
in hollywood, a billionare would be considerred rich...
so it all depends on what sort of community u live in and how 'rich' is defined over there by the residents. |

No one is ever satisfied with what they have.
My parents have around 10-15 million dollars of net-worth however, I never considered my self to be rich. Some of my friends are 30 million or ++ but they are never satisfied. This kid I know has 800 million dollar in the family (hit the bottom part of forbes 400). This kid doesn't consider himself rich. (screwed up).
I would say anything above 10 million dollars would be considered wealthy anywhere in the world. Anything above that would be considered rich because, you won't have to worry about money for the rest of your life.
If you are talking about as in income wise anything above 250,000 $ a year would be considered rich (of course this is after tax)
It really depends on your surroundings. Some people might even say they are rich if they had 500,000 $ and others say they are poor with 100 million dollars.

Now even a million dollars (US) doesn't make you comfortably wealthy anymore. I would say you would need to have at least 5-10 million to be counted as "rich". Even now being a billionaire is nothing out of the ordinary. |
