Excellent question!
I think the answer to this question depends on various factors. Too much money for some people is any money at all because the second they get it they spend it frivilously.
For others, more money than they need to get by sounds appealing, but they tend to get more responsibilities with the new found toys (like cars, extra homes, etc) and find the upkeep overwhelming therefore become more unhappy and would probably be better off with just enough to get by.
For others, there is never too much money, either because they are greedy, or possibly just the inverse, they are altruistic, and they could never have enough money to help others.
The adage it takes money to make money is very true, the same as it takes a seed to make a plant or a tree. Sort of the chicken and egg scenario (but I digress).
Bottom line is, if you know how to use the money to enjoy life and not let it be your master, and allow it to help you and others as a tool, then you can never have enough. Those who let it run their lives, will never be satisified not matter how much they obtain.

having had money and no money, i'd say if you have enough money to make ends meet for basic needs, that is "enough" -- any more than that is too much money. i think it falls under that "careful what you wish for" category - because believe it or not, sometimes it really sucks when you have everything you want - it doesn't make you happy, and then you just have more stuff to take care of. great question! |
