I have three years of experience with one family across the street in childcare. I mean, I was there when two of them were born.
I haven't done much summer work with them becuase they are both stay at home (they are very wealthy), so I haven't had the chance to summer- sit and find the right pay per hour/day.
Questions to answer please:
1) What do you pay your babysitter in the summer for morning to night jobs?
2) What age is your babysitter, and does this vary the pay?
3) Do you ask for comments from previous employers about the babysitters job?

I do not Baby sit, but my sister did ( now 18 ) she worked for a few familys average from 10 - 20 a hour, she did it when she was around 15 - 16, I think they will pay higher if your older |

1) well its 10 dollars an hour so maybe like 100 in your case.
2) our baby sitters we had for a longer time we give them like 5 to 10 dollars extra because we really like them and they do a great job

1) I would either pay by the hour 5 or just give a total fee for a day. You figure atleast 30-40 dollars a day
2) I have babysitted before and I babysitted for a next door neighbor monday thru friday all day. They payed me 20 dollars a day and it was just for one child. I was like 16 when i babysat for them. I do think that that varies the pay because if you have more experience of course they are going to pay you more
3) I haven't had anybody ask me because the people that I babysit are either kids that I have known since they were little, cousins, or family friends kids. I would ask for referneces is I did not know the babysitter at all. |

I use an adult babysitter that has 3 or 4 baby->preschoolers at the house. I pay her $50/day for 8:30->5:00 and she feeds them lunch (mac-n-cheese, dogs, tuna, chix nuggets,etc)
i usually pay my HS neighbor $10/hr for evening sitting. Probably more than she wants (she never asked, and i've used her since she was 12 - her mom was home) and she never says no when i ask!
our daytime person previously used an agency, and they completed a background check, so we had some info.
GL - it is a nice business if the kids aren't too crazy... |
