18, but I think you can co-sign with an adult who is 18+. Go to your bank and ask for the information and what the procedure would be to get a loan. |

Actually, there is no age limit. You have to be eighteen for a contract to be enforceable. Therefore, most lenders won't loan to you until that age. But, there is *nothing* that says you have to be a minimum age to get a loan.
I.E. If you went to a car dealer with a story of hardship of how you are the sole bread winner for you and your four siblings, they might take pity on you and loan you the money. That's a big risk for them because if you default, a court will let you out of the contract because you are not the "age of majority." |

Hmm, I know you have to be 17 to get a student loan with or without a cosigner. However, if you don't have a cosigner you need to have worked at least two years. You're 15, so obviously you wouldn't have much work experience. Besides, Don't you have to be 16 to get a license? |

I don't think your age is a major factor as mush as your credit rating would be. If you haven't made any payments on anything yet to establish credit, I don't think your chances of getting a loan is in your favor. Any bank that approves a loan wants to make sure they will get paid back. The first thing they will check is your credit report.

You have to be 18 to enter into a contract.
The purchase of a car and accompanying loan require a contract.
Also, you have to already have been working to qualify for a loan. You have to demonstrate that you have been employed at the same place for a couple of years to show that you will be able to make payments.
Contrary to what anoni says below, unless you are an emancipated minor, you cannot legally enter into a contract. That's precisely WHY it cannot be enforced. |

Age of majority is mostly 18 years at least all over the world to get a loan or go into a contract enforceable at Law, but in Canada there are two ages required for loan application 18 years and as well as 19 years with according to different provinces own requirement. |

Most major loan companys and banks will not let you borrow under the age of 18. Unless you live in south Australia or a couple other countries might do it, but not north america, unless you get your parents or a family member or friend who is of age and has good credit to co-sign.
Remeber.. under age people can't enter into a binding contract without doing what I stated above. |
