I had lent a good friend of mine about $500 for her rent since she did not get paid by her employer for about a month.
I really did not mind in the beginning since she promised to pay me back as soon as she get her check from her employer, but I really had not get anything from her. I really don’t want to lose her as a friend since she is always there for me. Can someone please tell what to do to get this money back I really need it. |

Good friends can talk about anything. Just let her know it is time for her to pay you back. Nothing wrong with letting her know this unpaid debt will ruin your friendship |

If she really is a good friend, you should be able to call her and just tell her you need the money. You shouldn't have to come up with any tall tales.
The fact that she hasn't paid you back, does not say much about her friendship toward you. |

Okay, I was once in your shoes. This is how I plan it
I waited for about 2 weeks after my friend start getting there check. I ask them nicely and of course i got the brush. Then 2 weeks went by again and this time I invite them to dinner. I simply to her that if she wanted to make a payment to me, I will slowly except payments and she didn't have to give it to me all at once. She said okay and slowly I got the money back. So, what I'm saying is, don't ask for it all at once if you can afford it, just ask small payments. |

Perhaps you need to reconsider the expression good friend now that you have been in this situation with her. People who lend money to friends must understand the reason they were asked is because no bank or credit union would lend to them for obvious reasons. You really need to communicate your need to have the money repaid although that may not work well. You have to come to terms with either losing $500 or losing your friend. If your friend is a friend she will at least arrange to give you something on the loan which is better than nothing. Without a written loan letter however even a court isn't going to side with you. Money is a legal issue. How can she know what you're thinking if you're not communicating with her??? |

It is she who put you into an uncomfortable situation, not the other way around. Just ask her when you can expect to get back the $500 you loaned her. Then you'll find out how good of a friend she truly is. BTW, never lend money to friends unless you're OK with the idea of never getting it back. |

Let her know that you are getting in to a bind by not getting the $$ back. I know if she does not have it, she will be trying to avoid you. Just be upfront and say...Hey... I really hate to ask but I don't want to fall behind...Something like that.. |

Okay tell her you wouldn't ask if you really didn't need it back.......but you do! So with that being said just come right out and say it.
Business is business its nothing personal, she never gave it much thought to ask, right!
