My daughter collected $1 per week from nearly every apartment in our complex - most paid for months in advance - and she would take their trash from the front door to the dumpster. They would set the trash on their step - she would ride through the complex twice or three times a day on her skate board. By age 12, she was making $700 a month for less than 10 hours of work per week. |

You could try visiting "work today paid today" establishments. They generally pay a little above minimum wage and the jobs aren't exactly glamorous, but it's a means of making some quick cash without committing yourself to a second job. |

Have you ever tried to negotiate with the companies that you own money to? My father used to do that with a lot of compnaies from ConEd, AT&T to credit card bills. You just have to explain to them why you can't pay or that you want to pay but u dont have enough money and ask them to reduce yout debt. Some of the companies like the Discovery card reduced the money that my father own them about 50 percent. So try that.
Have you considered of opening a savings account? You may not geat a lot of interested. However, it is a nice way for you to start saving money. Check out the Bank of America, keep the change program. It helps you starts saving money and you can start getting the interested if you have at least 100 dollars in saving account.
What about online investment or investment? It's a risk but it's worth to try. Consult with the financial advisor.
Getting another job is not a bad idea at all. Sell the items in your house on ebay or something. Try...just try. |

when this happened to us, (mortgage rate shot up and we coudln't manage it) I found a night cleaning job cleaning the offices for a local company. They didn't mind my husband helping me so we made it a companionable quick clean. Daughter was 4 and she held a duster and pretneded to help, sometimes i had a colouringbook for her

You don't give enough information to get a good answer. How many people in your household are working? Are you all working full-time? Have you cut back your spending in order to stop adding to debt? Have you cancelled credit cards? Have you looked for a lower-interest (or no-interest from family, friends, current employer, or ??) loan to pay off higher-interest ones?

Any job is a good job as long as it is honest work. My first job was making French Fries and waiting on a counter in a fast food joint. Minimum wage then was 80 cents a hour. |
